I got it to work just fine under Windows 10 Pro, but it needs to be the 32 bit OS, it won't run even in compatibility mode under the 64 bit OS.

You are correct... SW1 is the front switch when the board is plugged into the charger.

Al, That was the ticket!! Finally i can run some other packs through. I had a fully charged 4.8v pack and after setting the jumpers and connecting it the IQ5 sat for a few mins then said ready, so it sensed this time its fully charged and the correct voltage setting. Awesome that seems to match a couple of the adapters that i have, i didnt know which switch was one and which was four but i think i got it now. I tried contacting Itech and couldnt get through to them by phone or by email!

It looks like Motorola calls it the TDN9527A dip switch adapter. Again, can't find the settings anywhere.

Took it apart, no electrolytics in these, all surface mount. Hmm ok, must be why these were set aside i guess. I will open one up and investigate. They do charge the batteries as a normal slow rate charger. Just would be nice to have the faster charge rate. Anyone know how to bypass the control crap on these PA's to make them work with any exciter? I know from the manual that its 400mw to 1.5w drive but applying that it doesn't do anything, no output, so i know the control circuit needs to be modified to get it working.

The newer Opentracker + is a sweet little unit. I like the ability to load in firmware and make it suit my needs. Weather, Digi, Tracker. Pretty cool. The comparable TinyTrak4 from Byonics costs a lot more to do the same things. With the Opentracker + you can load in the Kiss firmware and hook it up...

Seems that putting a TinyTrak in a Maxtrac is pretty popular now. I have used both the SMT and the regular versions of the TinyTrak. Eventually i will get to putting the pictures on my website under radio mods on the Maxtrac page.

Not really, its just something i put together. I can explain how i did it however! I took the 20 pin cable from a dead power supply, about 4 inches of the wire on the plug, and then i desoldered the 20 pin jack from a dead motherboard. From that point on i just soldered and heatshrinked all the wire...

This is a laptop, not a desktop...

And yes, know all about the ATX power supplies. I built an inline tester that i can put between the power supply and motherboard for just that purpose. Comes in handy often.

On the radio that won't power up check the fuse, on the bottom, its the green thing that looks like a 1/4w resistor.
