after a lot more reading, i figured out what you meant when you said to solder the shields of the RF board together. i did that, and it made no difference at all. After doing some more reading, i found the process that describes what i think you're telling me to do. Only problem is, theres no pics, and im not famaliar with the parts they're talking about. I dont have an issue with soldering inside of this radio, im just not clear on what and where to solder.....

Thanks for the replies. The shoulder speaker/mic make no difference. Yes, its a UHF. After clicking on your link, and seeing a new microphone kit could be the fix, i decided to swap that part with the one in my other jt1000, and it didnt make a difference

Hey guys. Was wondering if anyone might know whats going on here. I have a JT1000 that makes a terrible background noise when transmitting. it recieves just fine. Hi guys. Ive done this fix with an iron to a couple JT1000s with good luck. I went to do one tonight, and now the (green) backlight will not come on. Neither the screen, or the buttons light up. well, you guys nailed it! That is exactlty who i bought it from. Should have known something was up when the auction blatantly stated a full refund will be given to dissatisfied customers, without sending the item back. So needless to say, i received a full refund.

Is this antenna OEM?
Hello all. Antenna in question is the lower one. This antenna was listed as an OEM antenna, and was really cheap. The font/lettering on it doesnt match an antenna that i know is OEM though. I was just wondering if anyone knew from the font/lettering if this is indeed an actual OEM motorola antenna? ...
