I realize this is after the fact, but Quickmount also made a dual-head box for the CDM series. The only problem was, they kept burning up and Quickmount just dropped the boxes since they never could fix the problem. Actually, Quickmount was sued out of business by Mother M. IDA bought the business.

The Polaris box doesn't play well with the Sabers, also.

There is NO DOS in XP. It simply doesn't exist. You can get a command prompt by either typing "cmd" in Start, Run or select command prompt from Start, All Programs, Accessories. Good for pinging, etc but there is no DOS in XP. (Billy G and Stevie B had a better idea)

Well, being the fact that there IS no such thing as Waris RSS, only CPS, I think the poster was using RSS as a generic term. We generally use that term generically for software for ALL brands of radios.

And we have never tried Vista at all yet, SP1 isn't even out :P

The dual head kit was made by Quickmount and they no longer sell them because Mother M's legal department said so. The company is now for sale. Mother M does not make a dual head remote mount kit. PTT ID needs turned on per channel. Optional signalling is for receiving fleet sync. Look at the channel options page.

If it is a Powerjoke and a Waris series radio involved, install a good noise filter and a BIG (motor start type) capacitor. Have seen this many times. Problem will go Bye bye.

Powerjokes are famous for fuel pump noise as was earlier stated. :evil:

No, it is not shielded and we have never seen this problem. We use a lot of Quick Mount kits on ladder trucks, etc.

Ditch the USB to serial cable and get a SIIG pcmcia true serial port card. It's the only way to fly. The USB to serial converters are hit and miss at best for any Batwing programming.

Yes, as it shorts across the meter movement. Makers of VOMs like Simpson usually do this when the meter is turned off. It shorts the meter movement.

I agree with Bernie, but I would look at the connections in the line section first. I had this same problem with my 43 as it grew older and that was the fix.

I also agree with turning the slug 90 degrees for transport.

Can't speak for the Ebay cable, as some are not of the best quality, but you do use the same cable for programming and tuning.

Change the baseband tuning, and that should solve your problem.

If you don't need MDC, Kenwood is over and above any of M's current offerings. Although you can add an external MDC encode board to the Kenwoods. We do this all the time.
