Jrv,
Well I looked at that previously and there is no mention of a calibration procedure for A17 the wattmeter board in that manual. There are two pots R7
Gain and R23 Offset. The question is how to set them. I thought that there might be someone on the board that has done this calibration before ...

R2001D/2008D/2009D etc, Power Meter Calibration
Hello,
Does anyone have a calibration procedure for the R2001/8/9D internal terminated power meter? I am looking for adjustments for R7 and R23 Level and Offset.
Thank you,
Sam

Re: HP8591A Counterlock (A25) Troubleshooting
Hi John,
Any chance you could measure those two testpoints for me and tell me what levels you see with regards to the test procedure. The sampler match test procedure is on page 2-16 of the service manual. Set the analyzer to 194MHz after power up and check the voltages at TP1 and TP2 and please ...

Hello Wowbagger,
Well I was working on the1600S tonight calibrating the power meter. When I exited the routine and answered Y to the back up cal data when I restarted the system all I get is a beep every second and a blank screen.
Any suggestions?

Re: Aeroflex (IFR) Questions
I did a little more investigating and found the the T/R input is 3dB higher than the ANT input as displayed. I verified that the power term path from the T/R input to the output that goes to the IF is 40dB down. Injecting a signal past this point also shows 3dB high. I did notice that the path from ...

Hello Wowbagger,
The firmware version is 4.02.

Re: IFR1600S with Scrambled Display (FIXED!)
Just for the sake of being complete. This issue is solved. In short replacement of the Headland HT-205 graphics control IC fixed the PCB and returned the display to normal. After the video card fix all that remained was a self test failure of the power meter function. The fix for this was simple. I ...

Hello Wowbagger and Group,
Does any one know of a surplus source for the unusual BNC female to SMA bulkhead mount for the Ant In and Gen Out connector used on the 1600S and probably other IFR analyzers?
Thank you,

Well I have confirmed that the Video card is bad. Here is how I did it. I did not have access to any EGA monitors and I built up a kludge with a resistor summing network and ran the signal into an old Commodore 1702 monitor that I had forgotten that I had.

Re: IFR1600S with Scrambled Display
Well, that looks like the video card is going south more than it looks like the monitor is going south. I agree that the best check is to hook up to the video output with an external monitor, but the spacing of the lines, the way the background sort-of repeats in them, etc, makes me think the video ...

Thanks for that. Sometimes the simple things confuse me!
Hopefully someone has seen this issue. I just got the operators manual from the guy I bought it from. I sure hope I can get this unit working, It appears to be able to do anything that I want to do.
Thanks again for the help!

IFR1600S with Scrambled Display
I acquired a FM/AM 1600S at a hamfest today. It has an issue with a scrambled display. The screen seems to display text but there are wide lines in it. I have not had the chance to connect a display to the rear 9 pin connector as I do not have a 9 pin monitor or a 9 pin to 15 pin adapter.
