Dim CRT on an R2001D

As with many others, I had a dim CRT on my R2001D.

I have read many articles about using a Sencore CR-70 to 'rejuvenate' the CRT, but I lacked the CR-70. And, after spending a couple hundred dollars for a used CR-70, I replaced all of the electrolytic capacitors, as I found a few to be bad. The ...

Motorola R2200A and R2001D calibration service

I have two Motorola service monitors, an R2001D and an R2200A that I have been working on, and I lack the standards to calibrate the units, so I was wondering if anyone offers calibration services at a reasonable cost?

So far everything is checking out against all my other test equipment, so I don ...

I have been restoring an R2001C, and I have a problem with the video of the characters not being correct.

The A9 Processor Module, sheet 7, U34, seems to be where I can see the problem, but I believe the problem is before this circuit.

R2001C RF output has a DC voltage?

I have been working on an R2001C with minor problems, and I have noticed that the output RF rides on a positive DC voltage of about 3 volts, and I suspect it is NOT normal, IF, I read the schematic right.

On the A5A2 card, there is a circuit that has a bias network tied to the +5 volt bus. Sheet 3 ...

I have two units, one for home and one for work.
The one at work I use to check aircraft antennas with, and the home unit checks everything from 80 meters on up.
I have never had a problem, other than the battery holders cracking in one, and that was an easy repair.
BTW, the work unit has been check ...

Re: R2001A Squelch adjustment

I had to replace all the electrolytic caps in my R2001C.

You might want to check yours, but I had to pull them to see the leakage on the bottom.

The AGC/squelch circuit uses a DC voltage from an AM detector and a DC voltage from the
squelch set pot. The voltages are compared and when the ...

Intermittant operation... Still...

My R2001C has been a challenge, and it has been going easier than I first thought it would,
but... It is still intermittent in some functions. If the generator or spectrum analyzer fail,
the frequency counter still works. Then, when I go back to use the generator, it is working.
And it seems to stay ...

I always go for the equal value capacitance, higher voltage rating, lower

Of course, I use ceramic for ceramic, aluminum for aluminum, etc.,

value isn't ...

More than the weight, what is the wind loading? Anchor bolts might handle
static weight, but what about the torsional load when the wind blows?

if there ...

IFR FM/AM 1200 memory problem

Hi All!
Recently, my 1200 has started to show a CRC error and it clears the stored info in the memory before starting.
My question is, is it the backup battery, or the memory? Any Ideas, anyone?
It sure was a pain loosing the stored setups, now, I have to do everything manually!
