Re: HT1000 ( aka legacy) question

I dont really know what you are asking with the first question but I use serial cables for programming whenever possible so I have never had an issue. Rufus allows you to make a DOS bootable flashdrive. You open Rufus, select the flashdrive from the list, choose filetype, for this you would pick FAT...

Re: HT1000 ( aka legacy) question

Honestly its easy enough to just make a bootable USB for DOS that its not really necessary to do a dual boot or mess with your partitions if you aren't sure what you are doing, even though it is not too difficult to learn. Look up Rufus. All you have to do is take an old flashdrive and reformat it t...

Re: HT1000 ( aka legacy) question

I use a CF-30 for programming both Astro25 and jedi radios. I use a DOS bootable flashdrive for the older jedi radios that require DOS and windows 7 for the Astro25. I use XP mode for everything that doesnt like windows 7.

Re: RIBless cable for EX600 series handheld?

I have no experience with it, but I know that kawamall makes one. I have 5 cables from them and had very good success with their cables in the past. I should note that I use serial cables whenever possible to eliminate USB driver issues.

Re: DTR650 - radio covered in white residue - why?

I've noticed the whitening of the rubber for sometime now. I read somewhere a while ago that said it could be the result of the chemicals in the plastic basically outgassing and evaporating, leaving the plastic dry and brittle. I don't really have anything to add to the removal discussion, but I hav...

Re: HT1250 New to Programming

The channels are in the correct order but did you go into the zone channel assignment screen and make sure the channel order lined up with the personality order?

Re: MCS2000 srecord needed

I have to look through my archive, might have a vhf one.
I don't have access to the radio, so if I don't have it I can't get it, but I'll take a look.

Re: Astro Digital Spectra VHF - N00B help needed!

Some answers: 1. The astro product line is no longer supported, so you should just use whatever the final release was. (I for get off the top of my head) 2. That version of CPS is for the Astro25 line: XTL, XTS5000, Spectra Plus, etc. What you have is from the regular Astro line, not Astro25. 3. You...

Re: To newly registered users: Welcome! Please read...

I figured I should finally make a post after being a member for so many years and never posting. For those who don't know, I've been around for a while, reading and just never posting here. No particular reason, just never have. Some older members may recognize me from p25/CS where I used to be a ve...

Re: Programming help

You don't need a rib for either of those. The xpr uses USB and for the ht1250 there are both USB or serial cables available cheap enough with no rib needed.

Re: To newly registered users: Welcome! Please read...

Hey As a longtime lurker/somewhat recently registered user here I figured it was about time that I post something on here to say hi. Im definitely not new to the radio world and some of you may know me from P25.ca aka communications.support as I have been a member and relatively active poster over t...
