Re: VMWare and programming

Take a look at VIrtualBox. You can create 32 bit VMs on a 64 bit host. Also, it's free. I regularly program APX, XTS/L/3k and Jedi using an IOGEAR GUC232A USB/Serial adapter in a Win 7 or XP VM on a Mac OS host. There really wasn't any "tricks" required... https://www.virtualbox.org https:...

Let it go, Chris. Jeez. I'm sorry I wronged you one time many years ago.

As for the survey, sorry that I was skeptical of an unsolicited survey monkey link. How completely stupid my true colors are.

That survey is fake as hell. Motorola is not doing market research on friggin' Survey Monkey.

Give me a break. Stop wasting people's time.

Re: XTL2500 simply won't passive scan

No affiliate scan (passive scan, hidden TG method, whatever) works just fine on current XTS/L firmware. 2500 or 5000, makes no difference.

There are also some good hints in this thread on pulling wav/mp3 files from the browser rather than trying to use a virtual audio cable or other software method to capture them as they play in the browser. Makes the process far less painless. http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=114230

Not to mention the teeny tiny little orange button on those radios. Nobody is going to push that in an emergency. They're going to call out on their PTT.

That's an awesome trick, thanks. I may have to fix my VAs now since that trick takes away much of the pain.

Thanks!

The ATT Natural Voices thing was sold to Wizzard Speech a number of years ago. You can purchase the SDK, or you can create samples on the webpage and capture them on your PC with Audacity or something similar, then export them in the required format and resolution for import into CPS. http://www.wiz...
