You can't beat a Mt1000LB or P200LB.

I have an Azden AZ61, 6 METER whiz bang synthesized 6 meter HT and while it has pseudo front programmability and 40 memories, it doesn't even come close to the Motorola's in actual on-air performance.

I program xts5000's no problem with win8.1 on a Dell venue 8 tablet but mine is a 32 bit system and I have heard of others with 64 bit OS problems.

I am using an original Mot serial cable and a usb-serial adapter. It sounds like the proper usb drivers did not load in your case.

in RADIO WIDE make sure your LOCATION settings are enabled. There is also a display menu item named LOC that you can select. This turns GPS on/off. I'm sure I forgot another menu setting, after all this is Motorola and 2 lines of describing this is to easy.

update, loaded Astros cps 05.03.00 and now it gives a com error, previous working version was a prior 05.00 but of course I also upgraded a desktop with 05.03.00 and programmed all my xts3k's radios first on the desktop to make sure everything was working fine.
