Re: APX7500 Encryption key restore after Firmware update
You can load keys from a remote head. You must first provision the radio with the kvl 4000. You need cable HKN6183B first.

APX6000 secure keys
Hi,
My APX6000 radios with multikey secure displays the key name when receiving. I don't see any place where there's a setting to disable this. Under secure wide-multikey, all 3 display items are set to disable.
Thanks for any help

PMMN4065A Mic
I'm using this Mic on an APX6000. The audio sounds muffled on the other end. I've boosted the Mic gain to 6. The noise reduction is set to normal. The audio doesn't sound as clear compared to the internal mic. Is this a function of the waterproofing ? Anyone else experiencing the same?
Thanks
Chris
Thanks

Its not multikey, 7.70 and 8.03 Flash is 100008-000000-0. It has des-xl , des-ofb .So if its flashed for multikey and the latest host, it will keyload? I know I can get it upgraded to the latest flash with multikey..

Went on another cruise in Feb, 2012. We had 13 people in the group. We used 10 nextels on direct talk with about 95% coverage on the whole ship. Now that nextel is decommissioned , there's tons on ebay for cheap.

Yes, the quantars are repeaters and are off site. The whole system is eventually going to be replaced, but budgets aren't allowing it to be done all at once. I will have to get clarification from Motorola.

Maybe the DAP module would, but I didn't see any mention of it in the installation manual. I'm just making sure we ge...

We went on a cruise in February and used Nextel direct talk with 4 units. They worked great. A couple of dead spots especially from front of the ship down through multiple decks . A lot smaller and convenient than carrying a portable radio.

While in the astro mode encryption, does "XL" increase the range as it does in analog secure?
Question 2, my KVL appears to only support DES. If I check XL in the radio programing(XTS3000), the radios will hear each other.Does this sound right?
