Where is the antenna? I once had a Fire Chief that insisted on a left front fender mount antenna, which was right above the trucks computer. Everytime he keyed the radio, the passenger side window would open, and the ABS would go off.

Around my area ( central CT ) most PS frequencies are all UHF ( and all quickly going P25 as well ). There are a few 800MHZ P25 systems ( State Police being one of the first ), and VERY few VHF PS frequencies. So I'd go with UHF followed by 800MHZ. Go South of hartford its VHF and UHF and Low Band ...

My experience has been, that if you use a CAT5e cable from the drawer to the head, you will not be able to use the speaker in the control head. The 2 missing pins carry the audio signal. As Steve did, I purchased the RJ50's, a roll of flat 10 conductor telephone cable, and crimp die. All very easy t...

One the way to get around the antenna match problem is to change the antenna to a MT-1000 style. Back in the day we would automaticaly replace the antenna that came with it. If you are using an orignal antenna try replacing it. Motorola only does no charge fixes for a fixed period of time, and examp...
