Impres multi unit charger conversion question
Hi Guys- been a while. We're in the process of converting from legacy Waris, Jedi and XTS-series portables to APX4000 units. On my sole compatible Jedi charger, I bought the NNTN8170A adapters, and they work great. Kinda pricey at about $30 each for a chunk of plastic, but... However, I have a numbe...

I called Ron Umberger today at his Florida office. I have good news for any Batlabbers who missed out on the Feb 8th event. The remaining repeaters have NOT been moved to Florida. They have been moved to another facility in NJ. I understand that it is in northern NJ and it is a recycling facility c...

Can an MTX850 go out of band?
I have HVN9067 software, and can read the radio OK.
It says the TX range is 806-865, RX range 851-865.
For what I need it to do, I'd like the TX range to be 806-869 and the RX range to be 851-869.
Any easy way to tweak those 4mhz out of these units?
Thanks in advance

IIRC there's an interface box that goes between the two.
Not sure if it's absolutely necessary, but I've never seen a non-consolette spectra connected to a DGT without it.

Boy, how time flies....and yet progress is glacially slow. I've been deployed OCONUS, and this is my first visit to the board in about 6 months. No longer involved with the radio upgrades at the utility company. However, I had dinner tonight with one of my old cohorts, and he mentioned that the last...

MSF5000 repeaters in 900mhz - any interest?
I mentioned this about a year or so ago, and now it's come to fruition. My local power company in NJ has just completed a statewide upgrade of their 896 trunked radio system, and they have about 100 MSF5000's to sell. I know the Motorola tech that has been servicing them for the last 10-15 years, an...

You may be right, but in this case I think I can get away with it. The yagi will be line-of-sight to the repeater antenna - about 300 yds away. The repeater is putting out a measured 55 watts at the antenna. The tunnel is about 110 feet long, and we get penetration coverage about 40 feet in from the...

Looking for high gain UHF yagi antenna suggestions.
I've got a customer with a coverage problem in a concrete tunnel. We're thinking of a solution using a high gain yagi connected to a length of Radiax in the tunnel. If that doesn't work, the BDA route is next. I've been searching for a yagi with better than 15dB gain. The best I've come up with is t...

A new one for me... Had a user bring in a portable this morning, asking to get it 'fixed'. I took a look, and noticed corrosion all over the battery charging contacts. If the problem is missing pixels in the display, you probably are out of luck, as far as a quick fix is concerned. There's a known problem with some MTS2000 display units. Depending on the age of the radio (which can be determined by the serial number) and it's condition, you may be able to get a (f...
