Have you thought about using a USB drive under DOS? I was reading your post and then went back to the forum. There is a good tutorial on how to use a USB drive for just what you are describing. I've used it a couple of times when I've been in a bind.
Just a thought....

Re: MT2000 PTT
The silver 'dot' that is held on by tape is centered pretty well. It give a nice 'click' when it's pressed. The green piece that comes from the ptt button doesn't seem to move much or have much of a spring to it.

MT2000 PTT
I have an MT2000 that the PTT doesn't move very much when you press it. Sometime it's hard to tell that it's pressed except for the LED on top of the radio. I'd like to get a better tactile feedback from the switch. Is there a way to adjust it?

I saw some folks carrying the Liberty at Dayton, but I didn't get a chance to talk to them. Does anyone have an idea when/if the Liberty will be available for general purchase?

Re: Reading a GP350
Funny what a intermittent ground will do. The ground wire from the radio to the RIB was not seated all the way. That took care of everything.

Re: Reading a GP350
I checked the voltage at the radio and it's a constant 7.5 volts. The radio will transmit correctly, but I still can't read it. The bad part is, I can't find where I put the current codeplug for this radio and the codeplug supersite doesn't have a file for the UHF GP350.

Reading a GP350
I've read from and written to this radio many time. This morning I was trying to read the radio and when I hit [F2], the RSS accessed the RIB and the radio just 'beeped' about once a second. When I tried a com test, the radio beeped once a second and the RSS said the radio didn't ack. Any ideas? The...

MTSX 6.0 vs 6.08 (or .07)
I currently have MTSX 6.0.0 and ran into my first case of the radio I was programming having a codeplug that was too new. I found an old codeplug for the VHF MT2000 and took care of the problem. What am I missing by using an older version of the RSS? Does anyone know the enhancements that were made ...

Lunchbox Radios
I recently purchased an MP500 Railroad Lunchbox radio. I'd like to make it a little more useable - maybe swap out the HT that is in it for something programmable and leave in the RF amplifier. Before I start into 'uncharted' waters, has anyone else done anything with lunchbox radios?
Thanks,
Jerry

I purchased a couple of /\/\oto amplified speakers (NSN6054A) and searched how to wire them for other applications. HT Antennas - how can you tell the difference
I have two HT1250s(vhf and uhf) with two different antennas on them. One is thick and is about 5 1/2" long from the base to the start of the tip. The other is thin and is 6" from the base to the start of the tip. Neither one is marked with a color, number, or anything except /\/\otorola. I...

Decent Magnetic Mount Strobe?
I'm looking for a magnetic mount amber strobe for use during public service events. I tried a WoLo LED strobe. Nice idea, but the quality was horrible. I'd like something that is bright (xenon strobe, LED, or halogen) and will hold up for a while.
Any ideas?

GM300 - Hi/Lo Power
Is the GM300 output just one power setting for the radio? In other words, can you set channels to be 'high' or 'low' power? If so, where in the RSS do you set that? I have adjusted the power in the service mode, but don't see any other mention of output power.

I'm still trying to interface my ID-O-Matic CW ider with my GR300. I have all the controls working but I am having problem when the the audio output of the ider is connected to the accessory port of the RICK. With the ider connected, the audio from the receive radio passed to the transmit radio is e...

CW ID for GR300
Has anyone tried the ID-O-Matic on a GR300 for CW ID? It has a 10 minute timer, a beacon timer, a courtesy tone and seems to be able to sense a COR signal and can control a PTT input.
If so, please let me know. I have a couple of questions before I start.
Thanks,
Jerry K8CMI

I thought about doing the same thing for my GR300. I thought I could just OR the two COR signals from the two receivers and take that to the tx radio PTT. I think you have to do something with the two audios, though. I was going to use an analog switch and the COR signals to route the rx audio to th...

Batlabs Saves the Day!!!
I was about to buy an HT1250 from Hong Kong until I read the Batlabs forum. "I never thought this would happen to me.....". I asked for a picture of the FCC acceptance label. Guess what - no label. So, I backed out of the deal.
Thanks Batlabs!
