GP 380 suddenly dead

Hi, I've got an UHF GP380 which worked flawlessly for years. A few days ago I took it out of the shelf after a few months of not using it. I turned the volume knob in order to power it up, but nothing happened. No beep, no display, no keyboard backlight. As if no battery was attached at all. Of cour...

Quite some time has passed by since the last reply has been posted to this thread... and the world has changed a bit in the meantime. So there is the hope of some open source CAD applications being developed since then. Or any new trial versions of CAD systems? Please let us know if you know about s...

Re: GP380 voice storage trouble

I just e-mailed with a Motorola dealer and he confirmed that you need indeed an option board. However, the option board is no longer available because of low demand.
What was puzzling me is that not even the manual gives a hint that an option board is needed.

Re: GP380 voice storage trouble

Also, upon programming the radio with voice storage enabled, there is no warning or error message that the option board is mis...

GP380 voice storage trouble

Hi folks, I try to get the 'voice storage' feature working for my GP380. This is what I've done: - assigned a 'Voice Storage Record/Play'-button - enabled the 'Voice Storage - Recorder' menu - In the Per Radio Signalling Definition enabled the 'Voice Storage' option and selected 'Recorder'. However,...

Switching to Wookie

I have both a GM 1200 and a GP 1200 that I upgraded them to a MC 2100 and MT 2100. I programmed them with the 2100 DOS RSS.
Can I switch to Wookie for programming or is there a risk of damaging the radios?

And, how reliable is Wookie?

General output power question

Hey, In Europe we have a licence-free radio service called PMR which is similiar to the FRS. Its specs allow a maximum power output of 500mW and has some other limitations (only PMR-approved radios are allowed, antenna must not be removable etc). On eBay there are many professional radios like Motor...

Some software allows you to set the min and max volume setting. If both are set to the same value or very close together, this might prevent you from changing the volume on the radio itself.
