Re: Motorola APX Series Long Range Wireless Remote Speaker Microphone compatible with XTS5000?

I've tested the mobile version of this long range mic. Works OK on APX but does not work on XTL series. Evidently the XTL is missing some communications through the mic connector. (product group said pinouts not 100% identical)

Re: HELP!

The legit way to get the radio uninhibited is to have the system that inhibited the radio uninhibit it.

This leads me to believe the radio may be a lost/stolen radio and you should go back after the seller for a refund. (or cut your losses and contact the authorities)

One thing I found that causes missed transmissions/bonks on digital is having the radio set to wide pulse when the system is narrow pulse.

As others have stated, bring it to the system admin and have them reprogram it.

Re: XTS5000 encryption question

You don't need any upgrade for encryption to work. Install the module and under radiowide/secure just enable secure hardware enabled.

Now, if you want multikey operation then you need a flash upgrade. Since the 5000 cannot be field hacked you need to purchase it from your Motorola salesman.
