Using multiple radios with the same ID on the same talkgroup on the same system works fine and transparent if done correctly. There was a point that I had about four radios programmed to the same ID all active and they all transmitted just fine. I could even private call my ID and talk between them ...

Well, in all fairness he said it sounded like 4 DTMF tones 250 ms each in duration then an attention tone and then said in a second post it was like that of Atlanta. Sounds to me like they use the DTMF tones to open up the PA system at the appropriate fire houses instead of all of them at once. Colu...

The F01/92 is a corrupted codeplug. Forcing another codeplug into the radio will fix the F01/92 but then you will have the F01/93 again because the codeplug won't match the radio's fingerprint. Here are your ways to fix it: 1) happen to have a codeplug read with newer RSS saved BEFORE you used lab o...

I've never seen it work. The latest MTX firmware radio I've had was 1.42 and it wouldn't do it.lilblackvette wrote:I know this is an old post but I plan on doing the same swap soon. Will the MTX8000 controller also support GE-Star?
I think the only Jedi stuff that does Star is MT2000 and HT/JT1000.

The radio treats 83 the same as 80. If you were to convert the Uniden 80 to Motorola the talkgroup would be 008 or 800005 on a Maxtrac. The 0 is a normal conversation, the 3 is a crosspatch talkgroup function. See Tom Swisher's site for info about converting talkgroups: http://www.wa8pyr.net/800mhzt...
