PMKN4147 Cable Pinout

Does anyone happen to have/know the pinout for the PMKN4147 cable (for XPR2500 etc). It appears to just be a straight thru cable, and it pains me to drop $25 on something I can make here in 4 minutes. I've already made a rear cable, but for the radio that's mounted in my Jeep it's a pain in the butt...

I've built a rear cable and it works just fine (just like previous mobiles). I haven't been able to find a pinout yet though for the mic port.

Radios don't affiliate to Capacity Plus unless using ARS, so you might not see anything when a radio is turned on. Connect Plus uses forced affiliation however.

On an XTL5000 you should be able to select from Red, Orange and Green by default as well as make your own custom colours. The XTL2500 on the other hand just offers the 3 RGB colours.

The DSP can go up to R16, but the firmware can't go past R09 on the AN series. Radio still powers up and works though? You may have dodged a big bullet if so...

I too have seen a few 6350's & 6550's that have no 'click' at all while turning the radio on/off. Obviously doesn't really affecting anything, but it's kind of annoying for some reason haha

It seems like the quick and easy way to put a stop to this would be to re-key the radios. DMRDecode will show you technical details of TRBO transmissions such as colour code, slot, group code and radio ID's but does not decode audio of any sort.

Motorola documents do admit that some degradation of audio quality may occur when using Enhanced privacy, but my ears can't tell the different. Clear/Basic/Enhanced all sound the same to me.

I should have been clearer on my original post... when I said everything was copied from another radio I meant as far as system settings, groups, frequencies etc. The radio ID was changed.

Yes, everything was copied from a codeplug in another radio. I'm not sure what it was, but it's behaving itself now. I haven't had any issues basically since shortly after posting my original message. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Thanks for posting that! I broke down and bought a cable too (it hasn't arrived yet though). If it is a simple straight thru cable (like the mobile uses) then I will just resell the OEM cable and recoup my $$. Although it might be tricky to make a connector for the side of the radio.

Has anyone tried building a homebrew cable for the portables? The one above works great on the mobile radios but it sounds like the portable cable is more complicated. Hate to drop $100 on a cable if I can build one myself with a spare USB cable.

Anyone else have this? Every time I plug my TRBO radio into my PC to do any programming, I lose connectivity. Thanks for the info. There's actually a fellow selling conventional 800mhz MaxTracs on Ebay right now for $10 a piece. I'm going to grab a couple of those I think to tinker with, and I can always plop the eeprom from one of those radios into my current one to see if it fixes the problem or not.
