Go into your known good codeplug files load it into the RSS, program for the right band, and force write it into the scm. See if that write function works and can hook to the quantar. You'll loose the codeplug on the card but you might be able to reestablish comms.

I would try re-writing a .cp file back to the station which inturn forces the station to reset. I get a ptt tone by enabling/setting up a secure/encrypted profile and in the personality there is a clear or secure strap tone alert.

Ok it's been a few months since your post...

Now, upgrade FW to R11 and CPS R11 on both 7000's. There were some known issues with the R10 series FW.

Use the same usb port everytime you program. If you don't, the driver needs to be installed for each different usb port.

Get it solved?

I just took a jumper with a 4700ohm resistor in between pin 30 to pin 1 and grounded pin 26. PL audio passes to the transmitter just fine. Without some resistance the TX audio is over driven. Quantar firmware "release notes" is there?

Is there "release notes" on the Quantar Firmware upgrades over the years? Like those M produces for the APX and XTS lines of radios. Or are the firmware upgrades tied to FSB (field service bulletins), of which I have not run across on Motorola business online.

In my CPS 5.01.00 under the Tools tab there is a Voice Announcement conversion tool button that will covert .wav file formats into the motorola voice format.

I have not played with it because, I got tired of the voice announcements years ago on my XTS5000.

Firmware History: I don not know the original FW. I gave both stations to a friend that works on 100's of these for public safety and he upgraded the FW. I didn't use them until after he aligned them both a couple of years ago now. I will contact another engineer I know to help me run some P25 tests...

There is a web seminar video on MOL (zipped 490Mb) that demo's the CPS pretty well. Codeplug samples can be seen in the video.

My license expired so I renewed. Then ordered the software two days later. The CPS is on it's way for another 3 years.

Not sure why I worry.... I am eyeing the Thales Liberty. Would be very handy in my work enviroment.

I have CPS Version 11 and just got in my Firmware Flash I-Button Version 12 for my XTS5 Model 3.

The question is can I flash upgrade my HT to Firmware 12 with CPS Version 11? Will this casue any
problems like CPS to old for codeplug error?

Correct on the Q53. The public domain FPP that even the CPS software says requires a "dongle" to be FCC accepted.

The part number through Parts ID is: PMTN4113 dongle for XTS FPP option.

I am still not clear on the "T" flashport kit number yet.

Just got vacation approved... I am going. Last year picked up three MSF Control Boards and a battery revert power supply that all worked. XTS batteries were a bargin and they still are working well. Will program a Hamfest zone. Doug.
