The system remains in the Astro Digital Mode until it detects an Analog signal. Only then does the Astro TAC receiver(s) switch to Analog Mode for the Astro TAC Comparator and Quantar Base Station / Repeater. I do not believe the Astro equipment will allow Analog Priority programming.

I agree with Jim that your tower appears to be a Pi-Rod tower by the construction. Pi-Rod was bought out by Valmont perhaps ten (10) years ago and you might want to look at their tower selection on the following web page link:

If you find where the interference signal is, I prefer a Notch Filter to a Band Pass Filter providing it's not 100kHz or closer. Then you'll be required to purchase a Crystal Filter.

Batdude,

I would suggest to set-up the Scan function for Non-Priority so it doesn't create a delay when a correct PL or NAC is detected. First Mode & Code in, gets the channel.

My evaluation is that MOTOROLA's Secure Design Center Product Engineering Group in Schaumburg lost their internal ability to provide the manufacturing of the Astro modems and they couldn't find an adaquate Outsource company to provide this module or service.

I've interfaced an older Micor style Mobile and Desk microphone to my ICOM ham transceiver. They do require a bias voltage on the Motorola microphones which you'll need to determine if your ham transceiver can provide.
