Re: O5 to O3 control head swap?
PMLN4959 isn't really needed. A mid power radio can you use the normal J26 acc connector for speaker and ign sense. Additionally, you can make your own much smaller and slimmer version of the PMLN4959 cable with your own DB25. Other than that the O3 is plug in compatible with the O5, assuming you ha...

Re: Spectra Astro, duel radio option?
FYI, the dual radio Astro25 cable is NOTHING special..its a physical Y cable, with two ignition sense leads, and two sets of speaker leads and that's it. No fancy black smoke going on inside the heat shrink. ANY W3 HHCH works, no special firmware. Only thing special is the dual radio G474 flash code.

If the PC doesn't recognize the USB cable, delete the USB driver and reboot as per usual as well as the CPS. PC issue not a radio issue then.

No need to go back to XP. The radio may be stuck in a boot loop and won't read. Does the radio show maintenance mode at any time?

You'll need to find one of the Nextel Iden speaker mics used on the heavy duty iden radios that were discontinued years ago. I've never tried this with an XTS40000, but its the same connector as the radio was stuffed into an IDEN housing. I suspect it is the same. Buy one and find out.

Can't load keys until keyloading or keyload is displayed on any radio. If that isn't displayed there is either a cable problem, housing problem or the UCM itself is bad.

I've recently picked up some of the sharkfin antennas for testing on 800. I've been a big fan of the MLPV series from Maxrad. Maxrad MLPV series antennas work very well. I use them extensively on installs for UHF, 700, 800 and 900. VHF gets a simple black or chrome 1/4 NMO whip. Nothing works better. Don't waste your time on the low pro can antennas on VHF unless you have a very specific application and a high signal quali...

No TX inhibit is set up. Radio is TX'ing ( i need to verify on what ) but either on the wrong freq or without PL. I'll try and verify on a freq counter when I can.
Something is barfed in the codeplug. At least that's my guess.
