Re: Help Quantar Power Supply

110AC to 12VDC is for low power repeaters, 110AC to 24VDC is for 110 watt repeaters. If your input is from a DC source, those supplies are harder to find. The visual difference is the DC input supplies have a circuit breaker for a power switch and not a standrd rocker switch. The company that does a...

Re: XTL5000 UHF - Dead Power Amplifier (PA)?

IF you can get the RF module, it requires good skills to remove and replace. You will also need to adjust bias current in autotune with an Aeroflex with the current shunt. Troubleshoot first, as the PA is sometimes the problem and sometimes the driver/pre-driver stages instead. All surface mount. Ch...

800 Mostars had a rash of bad plating which would grow whiskers inside the shielded areas. When a Trunked Mostar would quit working, taking the castings out and cleaning them thoroughly would fix the problem so that the radio would lock again and be on frequency.

You should trim the antenna according to the cutting chart. The antenna for low band is only good for a small (1.5mHz) range, and you cannot 'tune' a Waris Series HT, other than in tuner to set the rated power output.
