Re: XTS3K 800 MHz FAIL 001

FAIL 001 indicates VCO out of lock. The radio needs to be realigned first, to see if that's the issue. Otherwise, it's either a hardware failure or someone has forced an incorrect-bandsplit codeplug into that radio.

Re: converting an Astro Spectra to an Astro Spectra Plus

The reason why doug brought the command board up was because according to Motorola, older command boards were not compatibile with the plus vocon and they would have to be replaced along with the Astro Spectra controller. If you write the radio with version 10 CPS, you will need to set it up like the dialog box tells you to. This will work with earlier firmware, however it will update your codeplug structure, so don't expect to go back to just making as many personalities you wanted like you could with 9, you're ...

per Motorola there is no legit factory radio with Q52 only, period end of story.

I would say there's an equal chance that your codeplug is corrupt as the hardware is bad. I've seen radios with bad codeplugs do that. I would suggest you find someone to send you an S-Record for your radio if you have the ability to put it in as preliminary step in troubleshooting the operation of ...

That may be irrelevant. Remote that trunking system since you don't need it. Add your own with your system key and then you'll be able to delete that one, since the RSS/CPS will not permit all the trunking systems in the codeplug to be deleted. Then you wo'nt have to worry about it.
