XPR8300 control over internet?
Looking for something that will allow control of a ham repeater built out of a XPR8300 over the internet. Don't need anything fancy... just on/off & MCW ID. I reckon some options for courtesy tone would be helpful too. I don't have a need to link the repeater over the internet. I'm not very good...

Trying to cut thru the fog... Which of these would be best to set up a simple trunked system involving 5 repeater sites with 3 repeaters per site. Not looking for an advanced feature set here, just want to create several talkgroups that would could utilize the full system footprint and allow multipl...

Re: Programming MOTOTRBO MTR3000
Okay no problem making the system talk in analog. But in digital mode, I have run into some sort of problem. When I key up a subscriber radio, I get a bonk. Display on the subscribers shows an unlock icon. Color code matches between repeater & subscribers. Privacy was set to Basic on the repeate...

Re: Programming MOTOTRBO MTR3000
If Motorola was giving away CPS with it's repeater, I'm sure it'd be like one of those moments where you never forget where you were. Lol.
Is the CPS RVN5115?
Thanks!!

Programming MOTOTRBO MTR3000
I've looked high & low for the answers, please excuse if I've overlooked something simple. For the MOTOTRBO MTR3000... I've been hearing that the purchase price *includes* the CPS... is this true? The vender would just distribute it when you buy the repeater? :o Is it RVN5115 like it is for the ...

Ham controller for XPR8300
Just looking for something basic that allows DTMF turn on/off and gives MCW ID. Needs to be rack-mountable and interface-able to an XPR8300. And cheap.
Any suggestions?

Muffled audio cleared by power cycle?
This stumps me: I have a user who is low & muffled almost all the time. Did a check with him, same as before, low & muffled. Then he checked in again a few seconds later and had good, clear audio. For the rest of the day he's been low & muffled. CDM1250 VHF, Vertex UHF VRS, CP200 UHF. Au...

Re: VRS general operational question...
Yeah, I learned the value of scan-ability in writing late in life... it sure has saved me alot of heartache. The way you put it is different than the way I put it: In my version, the VRS's all transmit the same tone (let's call it T1) and listen for the same tone (let's call it T2). T1 and T2 are di...

Re: VRS general operational question...
Alright this is what I've learned so far in easy-to-digest chunks: Keep the VRS off while the officer is in the car. Automatic switches could be a good thing. The simplex uplink frequency (SUF) should be on a different band that the main repeater. All VRS's and portables should be on the same SUF. T...

Re: VRS general operational question...
Someone correct me if I sound like an idiot. The only way I think we could get away with everyone being able to leave their VRS's on all the time is to have give each HT it's own uplink frequency. And then we'd have to leave the HT's with the cars all the time. But then if an HT fails, the car will ...

Re: VRS general operational question...
Sorry for the weird questions, I'm not that experienced with VRS setup. But I do find it very interesting. The VXR-1000 software allows programming the VRS for transmit with tone (or DPL) in addition to CSQ, depending on the master/slave mode that is selected. Could it be that the VRS can transmit a...

VRS general operational question...
My skull is unusually thick today... so I'm hoping someone can help me. VRS's by Motorola, Pyramid, Vertex, etc., contain logic that has them shaking hands when they're on-scene with other VRS's so they don't interfere and lock up. So why is there a problem if the officers leave them on and pass eac...

Anyone know what buttons control outlets 1-3? The instructions that I have do not advise. I assume that buttons 1-3 do, since buttons 4-8 control outlets 4-8... am I missing something here?
