Re: MT1000 RX Tone

My memory came back to me. The radio did not do PL/DPL scan, only CTCSS scan. That is what I had to change. I have a bad feeling that your switch is bad.

Re: MT1000 RX Tone

I haven't been on a MT1000 for a while, but the first one that I had, it had the same problem. I think I had to program the top switch to enable PL/DPL receive.

Re: Clicking on Transmission

Many years ago, I had the same problem (I think) with a Uniden repeater. Motorola radios had no problems using it, but, we also had Midland radios, and if any of the Midland radios transmitted into the repeater, a clicking noise was heard. There were no other stations in the near area that used that...

Re: Caribbean Cruise

I've been on several Caribbean Cruise's, Panama Canal Cruise, and Alaska Cruise. My group has always taken along our handhelds, programmed for the GMRS half channels, which we are licensed for here in the US. I usually set up about 4 to 6 channels (using DPL) in case we get some interference or some...

Re: Removing paint from radio

I usually use finger nail polish remover applied with a cotton ball. Usually 1 or 2 passes and the paint is gone.

Re: Two-way radio use on cruise ship. Possible? Permissable?

I've taken my GMRS portables with me on past cruises with no problems from the ships crew. I set my groups up with multiple channels (different frequencies with different DPL combinations for possible interferance) and had no problems on board the ship. In fact, the cruise line "rents" bub...

Re: Beginning of Transmission is Missing

Another possiblity is the battery saver function. I had a group of radios that had the battery saver option enabled, and they always lost the first part of the transmissions also. After I disabled this feature, the problem disappeared.

Re: R100 Programming, DEVICE NOT READY

Well, I remember I had an old slow Radio Shack laptop that had the 9 pin connection, and it wouldn't work for Motorola programming. I had to find a differenct CPU. Maybe it is the computer, or does it work for other programming applications?

Re: R100 Programming, DEVICE NOT READY

Just checking, but you are only using the cable from the CPU to the R100, right? No RIB interface box.

EX600XLS Simplex Display

A friends EX600XLS radio automatically shows the "arrow" on simplex channels. Mine does not. I have gone through the software and cannot figure out how to do this. Does anybody have any suggestions? I am using CPS 6.04. Thanks in advance!

I've been going to this "fest" for 15 plus years. It has gone down the past few years, but I always happen to find something of interest.

I have a GP300 that no matter what battery or power supply I use, the low battery tone/light activates. I can disable the tone/light, but I noticed there is a "Low Battery Threshold" item on the F2 screen, but I cannot figure out if there is a way to change/modify this number (169). Anbody...

Desktrac Repeater

I recently picked up a Desktrac UHF repeater at a hamfest. The unit is putting out 20 watts before the duplexor. I would like to turn it down to about 5 watts. Any information on how to do this is greatly appreciated.

Last year my P1225 went dead. No squelch, no transmit, however, if you listened to the speaker when you turned the radio on, you could tell the radio was getting power. Sent the radio in under warranty repair and it came back a few days later fixed. It now happend again, and I really am perplexed. D...
