Scan list problem Astro R Saber.
Hi All,
I created a new codeplug for my astro R. When I created the system I set the affilation to disabled and programed in the Control Channels (CC) for one tower in the type II system. I then created my TG lists and then my scan lists (2). The unit scans ok and get all the TG I programed in for ...

How to create a new codeplug?
Hi,
I am trying to program an Astro/R using AstroP RSS R08.50.00. I need to create a totally new codeplug as it such a cumbersome operation to edit the current code plug.
I just want to start from scratch, is this possible or do you have to edit a current codeplug? If so are there short cuts to ...

A4 paper?
Just a guess but could it be that the paper is set to A10 or A4 or whatever the Europian version of paper is? Just a guess. But the dot matrix thing sounds viable.

Using dos 6.1
[quote="Bruce1807"]I will assume you are running pure dos 6.x or similar[/quote
Yes I am using DOS 6.21, and yes I checked the COM port. Like it said in my post I was able to communicate with the radio using MTSX so I think the cable is ok also.

Hi All,
I am getting a “serial bus I/O error” when trying to read the code plug from an Astro Saber R radio using RSS Ver. R07.01.00. I am using a 486DX running at either 33MHz or 16 MHz and have tried turning internal and external extended memory OFF.

Astro Saber reverse polarity.

Well I guess I will answer my own question. When I first checked the radio I missed that the fuse was in fact blown, once I replaced that (on RF board at bottom) a 33uF 20VDV SMT cap fried (on logic board) so I removed it. I will replace it as soon as I get a chance to hit Active Component. I ...

DSP/VCON upgrade
Josh,
I checked the flash code and you are right it's anlog only type II trunking. What are you using to decode the DSP numbers, could you point me to a link or thread on this site? Right now I think I will run it as anlog only and in the future upgrade it to digital.

I confess i blew it up:oops:
13.8 VDC is WAY too high for the Saber line (including the Astro Saber). The battery supplies 7.5 VDC.
OK,
So I confess I blew it up, I got it in the mail without a battery charger. I was coming home for a lunch hour break and could not resist powering it up after getting it in the mail (come ...

Astro Saber power supply.
What is the maxium voltage you can power an Astro Saber with? Like can I power it with 13.8 VDC at the battery terminals, radio side? I have a dead battery and want to bench check to see if radio will power up.
Thanks, Joe
Thanks, Joe

Changing a GTX portable code-plug.
Is it possible to change a Motorola GTX code plug from an 800 MHz LTR (H11UDC6CU1AN) to an 800 MHz Moto type II (H11UCD6CB1AN), or is the hardware different in some way?
Also if it is do-able, is the standard RSS used to do it and does it require a special interface other non-RIB type? Any ...
