You could always get a McKay 4SM. A bit smaller than the 6193's. Works well, but make sure you remove or punch through the waterproof membrane that covers the mic.

The radios I had are now in the hands of the Fed Gov't. If someone comes along offering to sell you one, don't buy it. Yes, they are stolen, not surplus as was originally thought.

I have some Impres ones that I know were brand new when I got them and the battery meter never worked with them on my XTS5K. Bugged me a bit, but I got over it. I know that's not the case with everyone - just throwing in my $0.02

I love my 2500's and think they are very well built and feel solid. They are Rev B radios. I don't know if they are better built than a 3000, but I know the 5K is. I know the Waris Li-ion ones will definitely work with an XTS2500. Don't know about other chemistries, but I don't see why they wouldn't.
