Let's say I'm using 460 as my TX/RX frequency. Am I better off using a 403-470 one or a 450-520 one? Or...will both work the same even though one will be working on its high end and the other on its low end?

You could always get a McKay 4SM. A bit smaller than the 6193's. Works well, but make sure you remove or punch through the waterproof membrane that covers the mic.

The radios I had are now in the hands of the Fed Gov't. If someone comes along offering to sell you one, don't buy it. Yes, they are stolen, not surplus as was originally thought.

I have some Impres ones that I know were brand new when I got them and the battery meter never worked with them on my XTS5K. Bugged me a bit, but I got over it. I know that's not the case with everyone - just throwing in my $0.02

I...i am using suction cups to mount the radio head. I thought this idea was ingenious! It works perfectly. There is no MIC hangup but that is okay as 60% of the time I do not keep it connected. ... The scans total 166 Megs. Ouch! But they look great!

If anyone knows of a faster way, like somewhere I can upload everything...

I know the Waris Li-ion ones will definitely work with an XTS2500. Don't know about other chemistries, but I don't see why they wouldn't.

Well, it really depends on what you are going to use the radio for. It if is Public Safety, I would say an XTS5K or 2500. Between the two radios you listed, I would go with the HT1550.
