Can you tell us how you're measuring the audio output power? The CM series has a single IC that's in a BTL configuration, so within the design limits of the IC, the output power that you'll measure across a specific value of load resistance is inversely proportional to the load's value.

As I recall, there was a problem with old versions of the radio firmware that caused this to occur. What is the firmware revision in your HT? If it's really old, flashing with the newest firmware will correct the problem, and that can be done local to you.

Minitor V now being shipped from M
My distributor advised today that Min Vs have resumed shipping from M. The current design has a metal(aluminum) battery latch and properly sized rear housing, so no more sticky/stuck battery packs.

Without listening, I'm guessing it sounds like the proverbial record player needle jumping in the record's groove. If that's what it is, then it's the "lookback" to F1 dead time caused by priority scan on F1 being active. If you change to probability scan it'll go away.

I think that I've got information on the various packet types and formats, but I've never seen any readily available software that will decode packets. With MOSCAD, the packet contents are pretty much unique to each system. How good are you at writing C/C++ code?

155.8525 Mhz is not a valid 25 or 12.5 Khz assignment. .8525 falls 25 Khz above and 10 Khz below the valid assignments or 155.8500, 155.8625, 155.8750. Are you sure you don't really want to program 155.8625(which is evenly divisible by 12.5 Khz)?

The most recent information that I have from my paging distributor is that the problems were not with batteries, but rather the rear housing on the Minitor V(the factory molds were worn and as a result the batteries were nearly impossible to remove once they were inserted into the pager back housing).

The problem lies within the pager's charging circuitry, not the charger in most cases. Unless you want to void the IS rating, assuming that you're not a FM approved shop, the depot is the answer.

I've never had a problem getting the CPs into bootstrap mode with the same flashing adapter that you're using. Have you tried opening it up and checking the internal 9V battery? If the battery's dead, you'll never get it into [re]flash mode.

What version of the Global Tuner are you using? R02.15.00 is the latest. According to a post from AlexR in the thread that you referenced earlier, using the latest Tuner solved the problem for him.

Mot placed a temporary ship hold(stopped shipping) on the Min Vs for a few weeks in May to correct a design problem with the battery circuitry, and shipments resumed at the end of May.

If you have a conventional CDM(not an LS or LS+) the radio is capable of 8 zones of 16 frequencies per zone or 128 frequencies total. All you have to do is create additional zones in the CPS and populate them with the personalities you wish.

The only Maxtracs that I have seen that read a 320 block codeplug are trunking radios. Is it possible that yours was converted from a trunking radio or has trunking firmware on the eprom?

Unless you cannot run the windows version for some reason I know of no way to do what you want to do. The windows wersion is available for free download from one of the Motorola websites. Is there any reason you can't use the windows version?

There's a 10.5 ft long coilcord available for the Maxtracs, HLN9560A, list $14.75(the regular one is 7 ft.). It has the RJ11 connector with strain relief molded onto it, just like the one originally supplied with the HMN1035_ mics.

If you can't force a failure, it may be wise to reflash with the current firmware(R05.09.14) after saving the tuning data and codeplug. Maybe someone else has seen the HC error that you report, and I'm sure they'll chime in if they have.

HC error is not listed in the basic service manual along with the HW and CS errors. Did you put the radio in button test mode and check that all display characters are working?

The 'G' version is just a later revision with improvements over the 'E' version. Conv-epp says that the housing is for conventional units, epp=environmentally preferred product.

You can easily do more damage that will destroy the transmitter PA by using an .sfp file that was written for another HT1250. The correct way to remedy is to realign the portable with the correct test equipment and then ***pay attention*** SAVE the tuning data to an .sfp file.
