That is usual on Motorola repeaters....its so the ID is polite.....wont run during a conversation....also it prevents a CW ID during P25 operation.....only way to correct it is set timer to LESS than 10 min...I set mine to 8 but heavy use systems need it as low as 5....Users WONT hear it as the ID r...

Figured it out... a ~ is a space......so I put one at the beginning of the callsign and now the transmitter is fully up before the ID starts....Yeah!!! Is there a way to insert a space before the start of the CW characters? The quantar takes forever to key up and the ID starts spitting out the first letter and half of it doesn't get sent properly

VHF Quantar...does 125 on key up then drops to 45w then next to nothing after a minute. Anything I can do to fix it or ?? I'd be happy with 45watts :lol:

Tnx...I set up channels for MPL and set a MPL list but the softkey never showed..may have missed something in CPS The 8500 skips 902 to 928 programming...the 8000 shows it in the frequency range but won't take the freqs..maybe there is hack. One downside of the kd2sl antenna is that it is horizontally polarized as are all "turnstile" type antennas. Horizonal is normal polarization for TV broadcast and also for typical Ham fixed operation but not mobile. Cross polarization can cause major degradation, especially on higher freq...

Is there a way to send 4th column DTMF (A B C D) on an 8000? I have mine doing hot keypad and the DTMF tones work great but need 4th column to control my ham stuff....I COULD use a DTMF generator on my phone but I'd prefer to have the radio do it directly.

Tried searching but didnt see this as a previous post. APX8000XE....trying to set up MPL so I can change PL on the fly on ham entries...set the MPL list 1 up and uploaded CPG to radio (CPS R27.0) ...never saw a softkey for MPL (It was added in the CPS features and buttons, etc) and the radio started...

Is there a CD or PDF of the service manual available?? My 2670 got water on it (it was outside under a cover overnight and dew accumulated...now some of the buttons are stuck and the unit wont power up correctly..it does say PASS...but the screen doesnt get bright or large...was working fine before....

Its a 2670B with the P25 option and the 15 pin VGA jack on the left side. Manual says nothing about the resolution or any settings. Evidently my LCD TV cant handle the 640x480 screen (though it should..it handles 480i and 480p with no problem)...I'll try one of my PC monitors on it... I need to talk...

Sounds like you are trying to run Mixed Mode...Astro and analog...in addition to setting the rcvr to PL, you NEED to also set the rcvr squelch in CSQ mode...that is done in the RSS....the front panel button does NOT do that. Well, did some more digging; sure enough the Astro is SPKR out while the MCS2000 uses line out....and our Consolettes are used locally as well as via the remote desksets...so it looks like a switch or L Pad for it :(
