Hello group. I've got a conventional Quantar here with an EPIC I SCM (R020.09.062) that allows mixed-mode ops and narraow bandwidth. I just ordered a replacement FRU SCM from M ......(CLN-1293A) which is an EPIC II board, with R020.14.002 (as per the SIMM module sticker). It too is for 6809/CNV ops....

Conventional System Key

How does one create a Conventional System Key for accessing conventional tactical OTAR, STUN/REVIVE? I have all the features, just need a CSK.

I have a master system key for my trunking system. Am I missing something here? Can I make one with my iButton?

I can run it on an HP Omnibook 800 (Pentium I 133MHz) with Win98SE installed. Just gotta disable the CPU cache memory in the BIOS!

So I bit-banged the radio just fine.

Its now a C7 but why do I still have the 192 mode limit?
I cannot seem to access/modify the MAX SYSTEMS/MAX SUBFLEETS section to modify it to 250 mode.

ZONES are disabled too.

Used as an RF MODEM, this 900MHz Spectra (with no buttons other than volume and mode rockers) has a MAX MODES of 4 :(

Can I upgrade this unit for more modes, convert it to a C2 or C7 perhaps?

Your computer B is too fast! Can you disable the CPU cache in the BIOS?
Try that. That trick works on other older RSS like MCX1000, Maxtrac and others.

I know the TRN-7036A is the standard part # for the DES-XL hybrid.

BTW, Gai-Tronics still has their 'branded' version of the CommandPlus on their web-site....along with complete pdf versions of the User, Instruction and Installation/Maintenance manuals.

What version of RSS will create a 6D core RPF file for me?

I have version R07.01.00 and it creates a 5D Core version and when I go to program the radio....it will not allow me to write to it because it says it needs a Core version 6D.

Can a R1-UHF (403-435MHz) be tuned above 435 for 70cm HAM use? Is it as simple as programming it and re-tuning it? How high can it go?
