would you need that to just decode?
I would like to just use the boxes to receive telemetry from multiple repeater sites/voters etc...
I have tons of them so would love to do something besides strip them for LEDs and voltage regulators
but I have a feeling like that won't be possible

it will look like a razer ;) also Though I would HOPE that the programming software would be pretty open and "enthusiast-friendly", I can't presume that this will be the case. I must presume that its security features will at LEAST equal those of present-day CPS titles. For reference, M/A-...

Don't take my post as being discouraging, it was meant more that when it comes to the science of doing it, you need to read very carefully, since simulcast is all about timing. You will need high stability oscillators in order to make the system work, that I know, since timing is tight. There are a...

For an amateur project - you are free to experiment and learn. That's what it being a hobby is all about. Just the same, you would be wise to study industry practice to understand the important aspects of the technology so that you can develop a system design that has a reasonable prospect of worki...

Re: Simulcast Solutions
I would take a web surf to: http://www.simulcastsolutions.com and check out their product line for Spectracom GPS Ageless Oscillators and "manual central delay" Convex delay lines. Spectracom's stuff can be optioned to to 12.8 and Convex can do the delay. Bob that stuff looks incredibly e...

There is a row of pads on the bottom of the board called the DTMF pad/Display connector, eight including the ground. Pin one is nearest the notch, and 8 is the ground. Pin 2 is 5v Pin 3 is PTT Pin 4 is TX audio, but do not load down this line, use the biggest series resistor value and still get the...

My two bits worth: The M-ll PA is not noted for reliability. Yes, you can turn the power up, but at what cost for a db or so? The system effects of output power is so overrated! you can lose 3 db (1/2 power) and never notice it. A 4 section Pass/Reject duplexer should do the job. The choice of ante...

There's no chance in hell of ever converting an HT750 to an HT1550 Also, it's a firmware mod, not a VCO Mod... you're not going to be able to change bandsplits, I don't know why people think that they can do that... if that's the case, perhaps you shouldn't even consider hacking because then we'll ...

That's a nice way to make lots o' watts, but it doesn't keep the Maxtrac from shutting down when it thinks it must be too hot. ah so the radio just thinks its getting too hot... hrmm, i wonder how effective it would be to just make a circuit to unkey the radio for 1/100th of second every min or if ...
