Re: PDRC Screen Shuts off on Power-up

Still searching...it seems like a small, 12v UPS will do it. Anybody know where I can find one? Lind makes one that attaches to a lead acid gel battery, but a fully integrated unit would be way easier.

PDRC Screen Shuts off on Power-up

Stupid question. I have a Panasonic PDRC 12.1 in my work car and the damned screen shuts off 99% of the time when the car starts up. I have tried running a meter on the battery and on the power cable itself and get a variety of readings on startup, nothing consistent enough to say that voltage is dr...

In addition to what has already been said, you most certainly won't get direct memory access with it, even if you overcome all of the other problems. Just go find an old laptop.

2007 CVPI Horn Ring

We upfitted a new 2007 CVPI last month and ran in to an issue. The horn ring transfer wires were not under the driver's side dash where the Modifier's Guide said they would be, and they were not on the passenger side where the were in the 2006. Has anybody else run in to this? Has anybody found the ...

You would probably be looking at removing the instrument cluster bezel and the cluster itself to get to it. You basically need to remove the dash trim piece that the clock/trunk release (depending on car) is on, it should pop right off. Next, remove the screws that are holding the black plastic beze...

The MX7000 is a great bar, IMO. With max rotators (5 or 6?) and intersection lights, they are tough to beat in a halogen bar.

I think tvsjr is on the right track.

I think you're limited to the number of modes per personality, so that might be part of your problem.

To increase the max modes, just add modes in the trunking or conventional utilities and the number will go up all by itself.

Newer vics have two things that make that impossible:

The ashtray has a flip down piece which equals less room to hang anything from, and there is some ducting under the carpet under the ashtray which makes it not deep enough for the scanner.

Plus it looks tacky.
