The oven ready light does not mean the TCXO will be accurate.
That would be one of the first things to check, checking the accuracy
of the tcxo should be on your check list.

have you tried connecting a high quality dummy load on the duplexer antenna port
to see if it happens again in that configuration? It seems as if it could be a near field
issue that may be caused by an issue with the RF PA itself.

If you had an HMN4044E W3 Mic that might work if you could work out
the wiring adapter to the GCAI connector, but you would have to test

I suspect that the wireline connector on the back of the MTR2000 may be part

You would probably have to remove it from the mounting bracket
in order to see the actual oscillator module on the small pc board.
The small module would not be easy to see while still mounted to
the bracket that is mounted on the rear panel.

The Icom SP10, Motorola HSN8145/SSN4005 and possibly several others used the same outer package.
The only thing that differentiated them was the speaker impeadance itself. I think it was originally of

It is probably not even an 8 ohm speaker. Most of the cell phone cradle kits I have seen in the past had speakers that were about 4 ohms or possibly a little less.
