Looking for Quantar Receiver Front Panel

I'm looking for 2 Quantar VHF/UHF receiver front panels. The one with the 5 tuning holes. I have a couple of panels on other repeaters and I retrieved the part number. It's 6484733T02-D. I searched several parts listings with no luck. They suggest part numbers that are close but the description isn'...

Re: Spectra 900 Ham Conversations

Hi Bob

Thanks for pointing me at that page, I seem to have skipped by that.
I added the cap in the vco and managed to get about 4 Khz deviation max.
This will do for my needs. Now I have to get at a 150 watt PA that I got on Ebay.

Re: Spectra 900 Ham Conversations

Most 900 Mhz radios are designed for 12.5 Khz spacing and 2.5 Khz deviation. There are a few exceptions namely the MCS2000 mobiles and the MTX9000 portables. These radios allow 2.5, 4.0 and 5.0 khz deviation and 12.5, 20 and 25 khz receive. In my case I just want to use the Spectra 900 as a transmit...

900 Mhz Duplexers on Ebay

Any clubs or groups looking for duplexers for 900 repeaters should check out this Ebay listing.
# 231024672701.
Four Sinclair Rezlok Duplexers for $400 US.
I bought 2 from this seller. They are in great shape and tuneup perfectly on 927/902.
These units list for $1400.
Just a FYI.

Re: Spectra 900 Ham Conversations

In the model specific info section of Batlabs under "The Spectra" there is a 900 Mhz conversion tab. Here it describes a mod to increase the TX deviation by putting a cap across another cap in the VCO section. The component mentioned is from the 800 Spectra VCO schematic. The circuitry for...

6 Meter Band Programing on HT Series

Can the Ht750 , Ht1250 or Ht1550 series be programed on the 6Meter ham band (50-54)?
I read somewhere that it wasn't possible.
Can someone confirm or explain this.
Thanks

Re: MT1000 Manual Needed......NLA from Motorola

I have a MT1000 manual (part # 68P81067C40-A) with an insert of manual 68P81108C84-0. The insert is an "instruction manual" for signalling options for the MT1000, which covers Unit ID, ID with emergency, singletone, DTMF. It also has the parts list and diagram for the circuit board. The w...

Re: 1 Spectra Control Head!

Sounds like you have an interesting project in mind there....April!
It might be much easier and cheaper just to buy a used VHF Spectra.......the individual boards if acquired separately may get very expensive.
I guess you like a challenge.

Using 1 Control Head on 2 Spectra Radios!

Has anyone ever found a way to use 1 control head with more than 1 Spectra radio? I'd like to use one A7 head with a VHF and a UHF radio.......but not at the same time. I've thought of using a RS232 25 pin switch box. Anyone ever tried this.......I assume that a high quality switch box would be requ...

Well thanks for clearing up the origin of this RSS. This board and website are full of "hacks" for both hardware and software of Motorola products. I don't think anyone expects any sort warranty from any of the postings. And yes I bought the radio with the thought of using it on the 902 band but I c...

Hi....I've managed to get a MTX9000 working on 927.0 to 928.0 mhz. It receives ok and transmits fine, however the vco won't lock up much below 927. The rx sensitivity is about 6db higher than the spec and needs about a microvolt of signal to be usable. There is no way that it's going work very well ...

This RSS that I'm talking about was developed with the sole purpose of allowing 900 Spectras to be programmed in the 902-928 ham band. The regular Spectra RSS won't allow this. This RSS is for hobby purposes only. This forum was created for people interested in converting 900 Spectras for Ham use. W...

Anyone got the special RSS that allows you to enter freqs in the 902-928 band.
It's mentioned in the Batlabs Spectra Info area.
