Spectra's with extrenal security housings

Running a dual band UHF/VHF system when transmitting on the UHF side of the rdaio, the VHF side also keys up. Is there any way to stop the VHF side from doing this.

I have installed a dual band spectra in a Dodge Durango. when the PTT is pushed to talk it causes eletrical items to come on such as the windshield wiper and sometime blows fuses. Could this be a grounding problem.

I have several stubby uhf motorola saber 403-433 antenna's most 8-9 in condition. Would like to trade for whip antenna.

we are getting astro sabers in the 150-174 range. The antennas are rather long. Is there a shorter version antenna that can replace the ones currently installed
