This is a shame because I can't garauntee mine are the same as the site's radios. :(

Ah well, looks like it's too possible then.

Just got this back from a supplier in the US
We have been checking on your request with Motorola. There is no such thing that exists. You have to have a computer to do anything when it comes to cloning and programming. We are sorry that we can not be of ...

That's quite a bit different from my GP68 rapid charger. It only has one light and one button to switch between fast and slow. I've just ordered one the same as yours from the US on Ebay so won't be using this one much longer.

It's not the best of quality, is there any chance it's not a genuine ...

Finally got a reply from the Chinese seller about the charger the 'h' is for rapid amd 'L' is for slow. there's nor reporting ternimal on the charger. so the lighter wont change when it's done. the standard charging time is 10 hrs for 'slow' charging, and 5 hrs for 'fast' charging. so it's making ...

Cloning the Motorola GP300 with another GP300

Is it possible to get a cable to clone a GP300 to another GP300 without the use of a computer?

I am looking for a solution that can be taken along with the radio to a site, plugged in to a site radio and in to my radio and then copy the settings from the site radio to mine without the need for a ...

It's not a standard one from what I've heard here and on other sites.

Unfortunatly the GP68 seems to be almost mythical in some places for information, I guess that's what I get for buying an import radio.

Anyway, I was told when I bought it from the Hong Kong supplier that he would supply a ...

GP68 loose battery, anyone suggest a fix?

Hi,

My GP68 seems to have come with a battery that I'm not sure is 100% official Motorola.

The battery clips on fine, but looks like it's not fitted correctly. I can still use the radio, but find that the LCD screen freezes or doesn't always display unless I apply some pressure to the back of the ...

Ok, I've found out that H is basically fast charge an L is trickle.

The light always seem to stay on regardless, but at least I know that.

If anyone could decipher what the letters under the LEDs mean then that would be appreciated still.

Thanks

The seller just replied to me via email stating the two selections on the back of the charger on the switch set it to fast or normal charge.

Unfortunatly he didn't tell me anything else, like answers to the above, or which one of the modes H or L is fast or normal charge.

Anyone got any ideas ...

GP68 desktop charger, what do the lights mean?

Hi all,

Just plugged in my GP68 VHF to the desktop charger and I have three LEDs on it.

One that's labelled Y-DI, another HS and one SC.

I was told this was a fast charger, but there's no fast charge button as mentioned in the manual.

The Y-DI light isn't on, the HS is green and lit and the SC ...

Firstly, you are not legally allowed to use a GP68 in the UK on PBR Frequencies (which you will be doing) as it’s not type accepted. Oh, I didn't realise that. What are PBR frequencies and what exactly is type accepted?
The hire company won't give you the frequencies as these are issued to them ...

I found the hire companies frequencies listed online, but now I am confused.

They have 2 channels registered in their name, that's fair enough, but each channel has 2 frequencies.

When my mates hire the GP300 radios from this company they definatly do not use anything other than the radios, so ...

Just a thought, could I get a device similar to a cloning cable to read and display the settings?

It seems you can get cloning cables that require a PC and cables that don't. Is it possible to get something like the second cable, that doesn't require a PC, that has a display on it or something?

If ...

So finding the correct tone is hit or miss but not THAT time consuming. You could use the frequency counter attached to the audio output of your radio and if the radio lets enough of the tone pass you might get the frequency of the PL. That won't work with DPL though. This sounds interesting, how ...

Re: GP68 and GP300

The shop is lying to you. If they plug their programming rig into one of the
GP300s the computer screen will tell you everything you need to know about
each individual channel; frequency receive PL or DPL, transmit PL or DPL, etc.
Then all you need do is print the information out and you can set up ...

If I'm not mistaken I believe you can program separate tx T PL and rx D PL (or vice versa) on the GP300. That makes finding the tones by "trial and error" a bit more complicated but still not insurmountable. I presume you mean different send and receive here (I'm new to this)?

They aren't using a ...

Thanks for the responses.

I can get a frequency for about £50 and use that to try and find the frequency and it looks then like you've agreed that I just have to try each CTCSS tone. Are there only 38 of them?

I've seen in my GP68 manual that it mentions Digital PL tones, I presume that's the same ...

Motorola GP68 and GP300. Please help, advice needed.

Hi,

I have just bought a GP68 from Ebay to use when working with my mates who all use GP300.

They hire their GP300 units from a hire shop in the UK that won't tell me what frequency they are on as they want to make more money by hiring more units out instead of me and a few others using our own ...
