I've done several CDMs and HT's to 10m FM, all with old school hex mods. Real PIA, but it works and you don't have to modify your CPS when you are done, and can pass the radio along to others who can still program it. None of them required any alignment after the fact, but I only opened it to 29 MHz...

IF you can get /\/\ to agree to rebuild/change bands/whatever you want to call it - likely you could have bought a proper radio for the same cost and time investment. And no, the software options are specific to the hardware.

What soft keys won't display?
I sometimes will do the ABC switch, but you should be able to turn on the PROG softkey and do it that way as well. If properly configured, you can program call lists, DTMF, soft ID and scan through various sub menus.

Well, you could do what you are describing, all though it is not ideal. If you write application only, then it will leave the tuning values intact. My HT750 works fine up at 52.525 Mhz and below, I've not tested it above this freq. Mobile works OK too.

There is no such thing as a CDM1550+. They are called CDM1550, CDM1550LS, CDM1550LS+. Yes, you should be able to break up your channels into zones. You can't mix LTR and conventional channels in the same zone.

It does use the same cable as the mtx9250, ht1250, etc. The MTX9250/8250/850/950 use their own software package that is specific to those radios.

My notes say that TANAPA belongs to a Pro7150 (latin american EX600), so not sure what you have on your hands there. The suffix is important to match up (A/B, etc).

You can do what Otaku suggests, or you could write in a "R" split file into the radio and choose application only when you write it in. Your tuning values will be unchanged, as they are stored in a different place that doesn't get written. If you stick to the 440 range, it should perform j...

As I recall, there is also an adapter that connects to the speaker mike connector that had a SO-239 attached to it that was intended for the test bench. I can see if I can locate in on the test bench if anyone is interested in the part numbers - it is a factory part.

I see stuff online indicating the XPR6300 should have 32 channels. My codeplug will only let me add 16 channels max. Firmware is R01.07.02. Anyone have thoughts?

I've used windex to clean up really beat up radios in the past. I've also taken apart Maxtrac and Spectra heads, removed all electronics and soaked them in a bucket of soap and warm water. This has been helpful to get the soft drink effect out of some of them. Put a little armor all on them after th...

Well, I can report that shorting pin 7 and 9 in this particular radio does power up the radio. The radio will stay powered up after my jumper is removed from those pins as well.
