Can anyone offer some assistance on converting the positive output of the channel activity pin to a ground output for use with a RICK setup?? Would like to make a simple circuit with a transistor not a relay.

The grille light wires are probably wired to a flasher in the trunk area and that is why the colors dont match up. The 3 cars I have in the shop are all this way.

Not sure if this will help you or not. But the PI Sedan I have in the shop now has the speaker wire running from a connector on the rear tray to behind the left headlight. Blue and Yellow wires.

Adjust the receive audio input on the Firecom unit. Follow the interface cable back the box it hooks into with the 9 pin connector and you will find the adjustment pots there.

Click on the scan tab or goto Feature>Scan then under scan list you set the priorities. Under the scan configuration you can enable or disable the priority channel marking. Somewhat self explanatory once you get to those menus.

You are most likely looking for the QCII tone format, certainly not the PL tone. Enter the QCII tones and then set the signalling type as QCII.

You obviously figured this out but for future reference, you can't program dual head CDM's thru the remote heads. You have to unhook the Quickmount interface and go direct or use the rear accessory connector. You will brick them everytime if not. More than likely you will need to depot the radio to ...

Run XP in virtual mode in Windows 7 and install CPS 5.12 that way and it will work fine. I did it with mine and it works perfectly. I have programmed dozens of radios. If you have a 64Bit machine good luck getting the USB cable to work, I am using a serial cable with a PCMCIA adapter on mine.

Any luck on getting the USB to work? I am running the CPS in Windows 7 64 Bit and it works great using the serial cable plugged into the PCMCIA serial card but it would be alot easier if I could just use the USB cable.

While it may not be the official Motorola way, I use a pair of crimpers for Amp connectors that go that small and then solder them for good measure. I don't know about the 3000 but the 5000 needs newer firmware as well. I forget the exact level but I thought it was 4.0 and above in addition to the ID Display flash option mentioned earlier.

My suburban has the premium sound system, the truck has the LT trim package so it has pretty much everything. All of the sti-co's that I have used or installed tend to cut out the am/fm when the VHF is transmitting but it has never affected the radio itself in a damaging way

Anyone have the part # handy for the pins that go in the accessory connector on the XTL5000/2500? Calling Motorola can be such a pain, figured I would try here first. I need the pins or leads with the pins on them to interface some headset systems.

How old is the firmware in the CDM's? We had a big problem with crossbands locking up and Motorola finally figured out that there was a firmware glitch in the CDM's. Once we upgraded the firmware they work like a charm..

They make a 75 foot cable that I have used on dozens of installs. I can't imagine that you would need longer than that. It lists as G104 on the spec sheet from Motorola. I will try to find an actual part # for MOL.

Did you put the plastic tubing in the channels for the mounting bolts on the lightbar? I haven't used an MX7000 in years but they used to come with the tubing that you cut to length after you tightened up the feet on the bar. They will whistle if you don't put it in there.
