Had the same trouble. Did exactly what KS4VT suggested and it was a no go. After mucking around with it, decided to do a repair installation of the CPS and it then worked. Give it a try and see if it helps you.

This has been an interesting thread, but the one question I have, is everyone says Nick used genuine Motorola parts supplied by Motorola. How do we know this as fact since Nick seemed to have incomplete records? How do we know he did not get a supply of QC rejected parts which should of been run ...

Astro Spectra Clean Cab
I see CPS 1.0 has been released. Now here is the interesting thing according to the help menu, you have to use normal Astro Spectra CPS to program the radio, then use Astro Clean Cab CPS to tweak it. Sounds more like a step backwards than forwards. (Anyone remember the fun of programming the Syntor ...

I figure Motorola may of stopped shipping the minor revisions to MOL account holders but ship the major revisions, since I haven't received my upgrades for the last fixes though the last two revisions came out fairly quickly. Seemed to be in six weeks. Though the one thing I would appreciate is to ...

Hi guys,

New CPS Astro Spectra/Astro Saber/XTS3000
Looks like yet another new version of the CPS was released today. It is only to fix a bug with how the software acts when adding a new personality in a 700/800 MHz Type II when Splinter Channel enabled. No other fixes in it. Version number for those who keep track is R04.01.03

It is not the flashcode which would be illegal, it was how he generated the flashcode which could cause him grief. If he used software which he did not have proprietary rights to have, then the Motorola legal team would go after him, and they should. It costs Motorola money to do the R&D and they ...

Guess the seller had a bad bidder or he had two identical radios. Anyhow it appears the radio has been relisted.

EBay gives carte blanche to law enforcement
What is everyone's take on this article.

Astro CPS 3.0
Just been released. Only two neat features are the ability to import/export data in CSV format, and being able to designate buttons on the control head to allow for direct channel/zone entry. They still have not increased the scan channel list as has been rumored.

Ignition sense defeat for a W3
Hi guys,
Here is a question. In the W4/W5/W7/W9 series of Astro Spectra's you can defeat the need for the ignition sense wire by removing a chip resisitor in the control head. Is there a similar modification available for the W3 series? If so, what is it?

Motorola doesn't have to have the board in hand. They will be using those pesky black helio's, do a standard grid search pattern over your neighborhood and they use the gigantic electron penetration scanner mounted on it, to find you. After that, they will call in a precision air strike with a JDAM ...

Has Astro CPS 2.0.5 shipped yet to subscribers
Got to wonder about Motorola.
I hear Astro CPS 2.0.5 has been released, but I have not seen my copy, yet. Sometimes I get a week after release, other times 6 weeks. Makes you wonder.
Anyhow did they incorporate the 20 channel scan option in it, as was being opined early this year?

From what I have read and heard about Nick (aka Apcosystem) is the only complaint people have had is with his customer service before he ships the radio. Sometimes he is slow, then misinforms you about when the radio has shipped, etc. He might make it easier on himself by advising his clients what ...
