The standard 17ft NMO cable is way too short when using dash mount radios in most SUV's even the crown vic's with the antennas on the trunk. . We stock 20's and even afew 25's for that reason. In addition to the remote heads mentioned above, get rid of all of the excess cable and wiring in the various boxes (light control and radio box). Also, jumper position to use the drawer without a control head (if possible)?

yep, those are VHF pass-rejects and can be tricky to tune for 600khz offset if you are not patient or well equipped. you tune each side to pass it's appropriate freq, then tun the little gold caps to reject the other freq, then if necessary repeat until you have about 80-90db rejection on each side...

Instead of building a box for the heads, look for used console (Havis Shield, Troy, Jotto, etc.). The drawers can be mounted side by side. Two VHF into one antenna? Not gonna happen without a switch (only one radio will receive at a time with a switch). You might be able to get away with two antenna...

Do I need to do anything with pin 13(EMERG)? I.E. do I need to ground it as on the 26 pin accessory connector for a dash mount?

Doesn't exist, best bet is to install a micro switch and pull whatever signal you want (+ or -) through it. Set the switch to close when the shift lever is in park.
