Re: A4 Spectra conversion - no volume !?
yes, I did that. I even bit-banged the model number to match an a4 (both MLM and Comman Board). Still did not work until I changed the MLM out.

Re: Spectra MLM upgrade procedure
Good point about the tuning frequencies. I have swapped over a dozen MLM's around an you will alwasy be stuck with what's in there. It's hard to tune a VHF radio when the tuning frequencies are 450 MHz.

Re: A4 Spectra conversion - no volume !?
Did that, (to rotary type) no help. Finally tried another MLM (older version) and for some reason that fixed it. Must have been some sort of corruption in the MLM that wasn't showing up anywere. Anyway works fine now.

Re: A4 Spectra conversion - no volume !?
Tried everything I can think of. Has to be either a hardware jumper or some moflag in the codeplug that I havn't found.
can somebody PLEASE email me a spectra a4 (rotary head) codeplug preferrably VHF...so I can test it out and see if that will enable the volume control on my unit?

A4 Spectra conversion - no volume !?
I wanted to change one of my spectras from A7 to A4 for my truck. I changed heads and made all the changes in lab including the model number, but now with the A4 head I have no volume control. It is stuck on whatever setting I have it on for "minimum volume" in the RSS. I know - eveyone is gonna say ...

Thanks for the help, I finally got almost everything working right with the new A9 control head.
Just one problem left... no dim adjust on the display. The dim button does nothing at all. I cleaned the contacts, and all the other buttons appear to work fine. I am not sure I properly understand the ...

OK, I finally realized I wasn't following the directions properly... I converted the ASCII to HEX, and it's all good now.
I figured out the problem and was able to fix it, both radios are fine now, and MLM is OK (back to correct model number).
Now I am still trying to do what i wanted in the first ...

spectra MLM codeplug problem
HI, I have a couple spectras, and I tried to make my A5 accept an A9 control head, but couldn't get it work (codeplug would not let me change it from standard at all, just skips over that setting).
The problem is that I tried another newer MLM from a VHF radio on my UHF radio to see if the newer ...
