I have never had a single failure or hiccup ever, I just dont have (or made yet) a RIB cable for the PR400, so I was curious because i've never once had an issue before

Any ideas why I can't read the radio with Global Tuner?

Goes to about 50% and completely freezes the computer, but I can read the radio fine in CPS (using a aftermarket USB cable)

PR400 Poor Receive

Hey guys

One of my repeater customers brought me one of their PR400's complaining of really poor receive sensitivity

Hooked it to the monitor and its takes about 20 uV to break squelch

Thoughts? Any common things to check?

Replaced the caps

VR451 blew and a little magic smoke came from the SSCB, not sure from where, but I replaced VR451 and now the SSCB will continuously power cycle giving error code D82

I can get A+ once I soldered a wire over the burnt up foil like you suggested, getting 15v but im not reading anything on the other P454A pins

Further tracing shows that Pin 2 of the power cable on the IPA, J/P454A, on the main rf deck, the trace burnt off the board

Sounds like you dont have the driver installed, if you dont have the CD that came with the cable, try Prolific PL2302 Driver, it can be downloaded here

Yes, I see that, but when I put the cable in the jack, power it on while holding P1, no orange light comes on likes the CPS says it should and I cannot read it but if I hold down P1 without the cable inserted and power it on the light does come on like CPS describes, but I can't read it that way eit...

On the Vertex DMR radios, I chuckled when I looked at the power cable that came with the mobiles and it was regular Moto with just a Vertex part number sticker placed over the Motorola part number

If I recall if your admit criteria is set to anything besides Always, then the monitor button won't work

I only have the Vertex DMR CPS in front of me right now but its almost identicle, you pick your Monitor type under General Settings, little drop down box lets you pick Open Squelch or Silent

Clean the side contacts with an eraser, take the radio apart and make sure everything is seated correctly

A flashing square indicates the radio is in program mode, ie scan list program

If it were encryption it would display a "Ø" on the display

Icom IDAS and Nexedge radios are interoperable in 6.25 Khz, however the IDAS repeaters will only do 6.25 KHz digital whereas the Nexegde units can work in either 6.25 "Very Narrow" or 12.5 KHz "Narrow" Bandwidth, so IDAS and Nexedge equipment should be fully interoperable in 6.25...

If your only using it for phone interconnect and not for phone interconnect/multiple PL's I can't see why you cant let the XPR generate and tx the PL and only hookup the audio/cor/PTT connections

There is only one audio input on the trbo repeater, you need to mix them together at the right level into the one pin (Pin 11) I just hooked a CSI Community Repeater Panel to a XPR8400 and went through this, here is a diagram from the Mototrbo system planner: http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/4261/...

Thanks for the input, Theres no LMR crap in the set up at all, I stay clear of that stuff, its a run of good RG-214 through the building, (a lot of tight turns) and Andrews LDF4-50 Heliax from the attic to the antenna... I'll run some desense tests, I only wish Motorola put a local speaker in the tr...
