Re: construct a smartnet system

It has been 10 years since this topic was touched last.

We have an old (installed in 1995) 10 channel Trunked simulcast SmartNet system. We have seen some weird behavior of the system recently. I need to check and adjust the output levels from the power supplies at the Prime Site Controller and ...

Re: MCS2000 accessory pinouts

I see this is a very old post, before CPS was being used for the MCS2000.
But i have the same question regarding which pins to use for recording,i'm already using pin 11 for the discriminator but trying to figure which pins to use to record audio.

Thanks

The end of support for XP and XP Compatability mode

I work in a corporate environment where the leaders of IT have decreed that all XP machines will be converted to Windows 7 since support from Microsoft is ending for XP in the beginning of April. For years I have enjoyed the relative stability that XP has provided so I have not paid any attention to ...

Re: XTL5000 lockup.

When the XTL2500 first came out several years ago, we had one that was having similar issues. We finally figured out it was occuring when the radio and control head were cold. Like below freezing. If we had the equipment mounted in the vehicle and it was parked inside the shop, it would work ...

Re: XTS 1500 VHF Tuning Transmit Power Alignment Settings

If your radio doesn't have a means to set mid power in the CPS, why would it matter what the mid power setting is, unless its an alignment check point?

Since I did not design the radio, I do not know the answer to that question. That is why I am asking for the proper specs. The last thing I want ...

Re: XTS 1500 VHF Tuning Transmit Power Alignment Settings

Will,

Thank you for your reply. I am not sure I want to just ignore the mid setting. Having found the Low and High to be about .5 W off from spec, it sure would be nice to set the Mid setting properly too. .5W is about 10% of the 5W High setting so seems like a pretty big error.

Does anyone else ...

Re: XTS 1500 VHF Tuning Transmit Power Alignment Settings

I should have written down the values listed in the manual for the VHF XTS radio.

They are 2.2-2.4 W for Low and 5.2-5.4 W for High.

XTS 1500 VHF Tuning Transmit Power Alignment Settings

Hello out there,

We just received a bunch of VHF XTS1500 radios. I am going thru and tuning them prior to programming them and sending them out into the field. When doing the Transmit Power Alignment, I am supposed to adjust the High, Mid, and Low settings at several frequencies. I found 2 ...

Re: MCS2000 Remote head problem - Need help

Did you find a resolution to this problem? I have a similar issue with several radios we just bought used.

I read one and built a new codeplug from one of our existing ones. I wrote it into the radio I started with and found the buttons do not do what they are supposed to. I cloned 3 more radios ...

Re: Hide away strobe length question

I have some old tubes here. They are the push in ones. It is 1 7/16 inch from the part where the mounting surface would be to the very end of the tube. Hope that makes sense.

It is a small department. I think a better definition of this vehicle would be chief's ride but he called it a command vehicle.

He has only told me about 1 radio so far which is a CDM 1550.

The big hassle here is the Ford Super Heavy Duty line is getting a complete interior and exterior remake for ...

2008 Ford F-250 Console Options?

Hello,

A customer just called to get things rolling on a 2008 Ford F250 command vehicle.

Have you seen any cool consoles for these rigs yet?

Too bad they changed the dash so the Jotto unit will not work anymore.

Anyway, he is trying to decide between buckets with full console or bench seat ...

Hello,

I have seen a similar issue concerning the ignition sense here.

A local agency has several XTL2500 radios. They either had them installed themselves or had them installed by a subcontractor. At least 2 have had a problem. They will inconsistently turn themselves on when you start the engine ...

The bracket mounts the speaker below the driver's side headlight behind the bumper behind the "vent" in the bumper. It is a big empty space down there with difficult access.

Matt,

Troy makes a console base that works pretty well. Slides under the seat mounts in front and bolts on where the sorry cup holder is in the rear. I used a combo angle / straight console in the one I rigged.

I did not put front strobes in. I installed a couple TIR3 on the grill on custom angle ...

2006 Ford f-150 w/ bench seat console

Hello all,

I am installing a variety of equipment in a 2006 Ford F-150. I would like to find a console to install all the equipment in. The vehicle is a command rig for a local fire department. The truck has a bench seat. I would like to fit in the following equipment:
