M1225 4ch to 20ch?
I believe I saw an old (2003ish) post on this but it had never been answered.
Is it possible to convert a 4ch M1225 to a 20ch M1225 with the proper software / hardware?
I only ask as I have a good 4ch radio and a 20ch parts radio with a bad board but a good head.

Reputable radio shops/techs in the Minnesota Twin-Cities?
Anyone have any personal experience or know of any good radio techs, shops, garage hermits or whatever in the Minnesota Twin-Cities area? Basically looking for someone local who can do occasional alignments and firmware upgrades.

May be there if I can find a hotel room and last minute plane tickets from San Francisco for a decent price. If I go, you'll be hearing from me on VHF P25.

I remember selling a Spectra with an orange chassis a few years back. It was an 800mhz A7. It was indeed an ex-Fedex radio. I'll see if I can find a picture of it.

Disable Spectra rear control head in RSS?
So I picked up a UHF W9 Spectra (one of the ex-LAFD radios). Only now have I found out that it's a dual control head radio. I only got one control head with the radio (it just occurred to me that I might want to check whether it is the front or the rear head). If it is the front head, is there any ...

PM recv'd, email sent. Definitely is weird, I went through every setting in the entire codeplug and can't seem to find anything to remedy it. I tried adding a DEK in the codeplug so I can undo whatever is wrong, but can't seem to figure it out.

Re: CPS thinks radio has a DEK when it doesnt
When I open the radio codeplug, the DEK isn't even present under radio configuration. When I go to features > controls > etc on the drop down menu bar, I get DEK A, DEK B, DEK C, DEK D but they're all grayed out. I'm guessing the previous user had a DEK then removed it so when I went to read the ...

CPS thinks radio has a DEK when it doesnt
I read my W9 this morning (haven't gotten around to programming it until today) and for some reason CPS thinks it has a DEK. Yes. You need to have special secret squirrel software (don't ask) and an srec from an VHF radio matching your target configuration (flashcode, model number, etc).
On the hardware side, you simply have to take out the vocon board from the uhf radio and place it in the vhf radio. Once that's done ...

I have the feeling it is possible, channels go 1-2-2-2-2-2-2 when a 16ch knob is added in place of the 2ch one, though I haven't looked at the software in awhile. Is it as simple as simply adding more channels, or must one open up their favorite hex editor.

The fuse is located on the front of the housing, the same piece of plastic with the speaker attached. Follow the battery contacts to a green colored 'bead', this would be the fuse.
