The radio tech here says that the MCC7500 won't page over trunking channels. I think it would be nice to just send the tones over the radios and page that way instead of carrying VHF pagers. I think I might try to set up the manual page next time I dispatch fire and EMS and go over the 800 mhz radio...

I have a VHF EX500 that has a little audio problem. The radio turns on and you can hear the test beep, but it is very faint, no matter how high you turn the radio up. It transmits and receives, but you can't quite hear what is being said. Has the speaker gone bad, or something else wrong?

About the clock. It does not seem to keep time very well. I have set it many times, and yet it still gets off. I have wondered what the deal is. The only thing I could think of was, was changing batteries. But for quite awhile, I was not switching the batteries on it.

I just took the coiled antenna off and put on a VHF antenna. I haven't tried it yet, but I am pretty sure it will work. I looked on the inside of the mag mount on an identical antenna, and it doesn't have anything else inside of the base as far as coil wise. So it should work, right?
