Sounds like you may have mode slaved securenet enabled on all channels and no securenet key loaded. Mode slaved secure option is a selection on each mode program screen on the bottom left.

Make sure you have the high side and low side connected properly. If this was originally a mobile duplexer the TX may be the high freq side and RX the low freq side. If reversed a high passband loss will result.

You also need to put an insulating pad under the PA and some kapton tape on the specified ground. The kit also supplied the new style shield with the 4 clips to hold it on. If your radio already has the new style shield

P10-P50 crystals should work. Use the same injection scheme the radio is currently using and it should tune up on 146 but as always YMMV.

While looking through the Saber service menu's looking for a way to boost the audio PA (it's not there) I noticed the audio processing setting.

First change the "T" as suggested above. What transmitter are you feeding it with? I have seen a TX with 1 out of 4 finals bad and still make full power into as wattmeter but die when connected to a properly tuned duplexer because the output Z is way off.

Any of the usual crystal vendors should suffice. I have used West crystal in Canada for low cost on occasion with good results, of course Bomar is good and International is about the best but higher priced. That radio should go down to 146 with no problem.

On the 10 channel radios you should be able to leave the jumper in, just cycle power when you are done programming to exit the program mode. On the later 16 channel radios a switch is required. A small toggle switch fits nicely in the ext. speaker jack hole.
