This is where we removed the jumper on a bunch of AVL radios. Real easy to do. Remove the jumper where noted in the pictures, just add one. The housing is shorter than the Astro Saber Housing, so a Astro Saber would never be able to fit in the housing. Therefore no the buttons would not line up!

Contrary to popular belief IMBE was available in 512K Boards. I have several VHF Astro Saber 3's with 512K boards and IMBE. These have been tested with other IMBE Astro Sabers, Spectras, and a XTS5000. The 512K radios both transmit and receive IMBE with no issues and they actually sound pretty good....

Depends on the Keynote......The Keynote was made in several very different flavors. One used Golay signalling and had a numeric display on the top of the pager in addition to voice. You really need to make sure the pager you are going to buy is capable of the signalling type you are needing.

The control cable will actually work in either one, but the proper one is the left side under the power connector. The programming is done in the middle connector, which is also use for a rear control head setup if desired.

Yes, they can pick and choose who they decide to sell rss and cps to. They tend to be more restrictive on lower tier radios to protect dealer areas.

VSELP simply means this is a hacked radio of some sort. You have a IMBE Flashcode with VSELP firmware. VSELP is a older Motorola Digital format that is not compatible with IMBE. There can be conflicting items, items that are firmware dependent will not work without the proper firmware. With that said most of these work just fine for 99% of the users and what they actually use them for.

Yes, but the radio would not have left Motorola that way. The Flashcode can have options and features that the firmware of the radio will not support.
