does anybody know if an adapter exists, that will allow me to charge my xts2500 batteries with my xts5000 impress charger, model WPLN4114AR? If anybody knows if such an adapter exists, can supply the part number or even sell me one, I would really appreciate it.

I gave you the details of what I did. But, specifically, no, I cannot, and do not want, to run 100 watts. I am limited to 40. If you need 100 watts in the Ham band, you will obviously need to trick the pa into thinking it a high power low split. But you will lose the wide band capability.

I modded my vhf high power, high split pa, tricking the station into thinking it is a vhf 40 watt pa. Worked like a charm.

Ok, I am interested in making my range 2 cards report as range 1. I do not have the audio issue with my repeaters, but I found that I did have to retune the rx vco's slightly in order to achieve vco lock at my rx freq of 144.690.

I have a high split quantar that I needed to tune down to 144.690, rx. It wouldnt lock below about 144.790. The solution was to turn the tuning slug IN 1/2 turn on L2202, it locks now down to about 142.500.

Yes I have, the radio is 100%, except for the dtmf generated by the keypad. For some reason, it is at the max level of allowed deviation. I figured I must be missing something here.

W3 keypad DTMF deviation adjustment
Hi. How does one adjust the deviation of the keypad DTMF on a W3 radio? I see nowhere in RSS to do this, and see no pots on the W3 circuit board. the DTMF tones are max deviation, I need to set them down a bit.

Hi Jason. Yes, a VHF range 2 A3 codeplug would be great. I have made the UHF codeplug work in an A3 radio, but the test freqs are not correct. Its a minor issue, but would be nice to have it perfect. I could send you the UHF A3 codeplug in return, if you like.

As KC7GR already posted above, just disable the option with RSS, Radio Service Software. If you dont have the software, you will have to buy it, or acquire it, or take the radios to a dealer with the RSS to disable the option for you. Its very simple, really.

Yep, same here. I cant remember the exact reason, but you have to to attenuate your RX signal before the monitor will accuratly(?) decode the deviation. I think this is normal behaviour for this service monitor.

As Will pointed out, if the radio is wired correctly, it will power up "on" if left in an "on" state. If both leads are wired to ign, then the radio will always power up in an "off" state, regardless of the state it was left in.

I have done this, your problem is the interconnecting board on the front of the radio. The A3 head requires a special board. The part number escapes me at the moment, but I have seen the remote connection board on ebay advertised as a HHCH interconnecting faceplate. Bought 3 of them myself.
