It would be infinately easier to get two old mobiles and connect them together. The accessory port on the mobiles will give you all the audio and COR/TOR and PTT connections you need. I don't know how you would ever get a COR/TOR out of a portable radio.

I installed SP3 a week or two ago without any problems. I haven't tried benchmarking anything but my laptop is running just fine. I don't use system restore so I'm not worried about that issue.

Since installing SP3, I have used the latest releases of Astro and Astro25 CPS without any problems.

Yes, you can only have one scan list at time. Don't feel too bad. Even the XTS5000 still only allows 16 channels in the scan list.

In the zone/channel, channel is assigned one of the 150 personalities you made. Those channels are the 1-16 on the channel knob.

Re: VISAR- re-alignment needed after changing TX PWR level?

I'll give a more complete answer now. Yes you can adjust the power without requiring a complete re-tuning of the radio. All other settings will remain un-effected. However, you can not just arbitrarily crank the power slider up blindly. There are different sliders for different frequency ranges. You...

Re: VISAR- re-alignment needed after changing TX PWR level?

You can't just push the slider up to 127 and say "now i have maximum power". Put the slider back where it was before the radio goes up in smoke. Then try again when you actually have a wattmeter or service monitor attached to do it properly. Chances are it could use a complete alignment re...

The user manual isn't going to do you much good. Every function and button is programmable and if you didn't program it, you won't know what its doing. The manual can't tell you how it was programmed.

A lady just gave you a CDM1550. Sounds kinda odd to me.

Not every MT2000 will do QC-II. Yours isn't one of them I guess. As far as I remember, the MT2000 is not flashport upgradeable like the MTS2000. Unless some new firmware will bring QC-II with it, you are stuck with a non QC-II radio.

CDM power output went from 20 to 0. Whats wrong?

So I have this one CDM1250 that is arguably the red headed stepchild of all my radios. I recently had the firmware crash during an upgrade but fixed it. That got it working and I tuned it perfectly. However, it was only doing at most 20 watts despite being a 48 watt radio. It worked fine at 20 watts...

Sure. Buy XP, boot from the CD, and follow the instructions. You're going to want to up it to at least 512mb of RAM. You won't be going back to 2000 unless you have a 2000 CD to do the same thing with.

Well, you can run it over with a bus or nail it head on with a 2.5" smooth bore (or both at once) and it will win. The display is huge. The buttons are easy to read. You can run dual head and dual chassis. The audio quality I think is far superior.

This concept threw me for a loop a long time ago too. Took me a while to figure it out as well.
