Consoles

I am an individual who is seeking a console in which to mount mobile radio equipment. I guess what I really need is a retail dealer who will sell me, an individual not associated with any company, what I want directly, preferably via the web. I have read the many posts here on the subject of console...

Connect Systems makes a small device that, when connected to a scanner or receiver, will read out the PL or DPL tone of the transmitting station. Or, Radio Shack has the PRO-92 scanner which will also instantly read the PL or DPL tone of the station transmitting. The PRO-92 has been discontinued, bu...

I hope it will, I thought the BDN6676 was the only audio adapter that they made that will fit the HT1000, and I have seen that earpiece listed under accessories for the HT1000

Well, I do have a Moto earpiece # BDN6665A en route to me that I got on eBay, but the adapter arrived first; I had several different mono and stereo earpieces that I thought I would try first. None of 'em worked. Guess I'll have to wait for the "real /\/\ deal" :)

Nope, I tried that; a stereo plug does the same thing.

Audio adapter BDN6676

I just got a Motorola audio accessory adapter (BDN6676) for earphones, headphones, etc. I tried a regular mono ear bud with a 1/8 inch mono plug, and it fits, but it doesn't work. It causes the radio (HT 1000) to be keyed up constantly. Do I need to use a genuine Motorola ear phone for proper operat...

I used Stacker back when I had a 210 mb hard drive. Gave me over 400 mb of storage space! I was on top of the world! The good old days, not all that long ago.

HT1000 scan setup

I have my HT1000 setup to scan using the ABC switch. I notice that while scanning, the radio ignores any PL tones, and all traffic from all other users can be heard, until I turn scan off. I prefer the PL tone not be ignored during scan. In the RSS "Scan Configuration" menu, is it the "PL Defeat" or...

Serial numbers

Yesterday, there was a thread where someone pointed out that radio serial numbers could be easily changed with RSS. The question is, why would anyone have a legitimate need to do such a thing? That seems to me like being able to change the VIN number on a car. Is there anywhere on/in a radio where t...

HT1000 questions

Tom, you may have had your questions answered by now, but I was having the same problem you described in your original post. The solution (for me) was to go to the channel configuration menu in the RSS, and disable Stat-Alert Sel-Call and/or MDC/Star Signalling Decode. Can't remember for sure which ...

HT-1000 loose knobs

I have an HT1000 on which the volume and channel selector knobs wiggle too much from front to back. I took the radio apart, and it seems the whole "control module" assembly, that is, the assembly at the top that has the volume, channel selector, and ABC switch attached- is loose. There doesn't seem ...

HT1000 (Jedi) desktop chargers

I have the standard rate desktop charger, NTN 1174A. It has two contacts in the charging pocket. The "rapid" desktop chargers have three or four contacts. The question is, what's the difference in the rapid chargers with three and the ones with four contacts? How long does a rapid charger take to re...

That would explain why the LED only blinks on the one channel. That one channel uses a PL tone on the receive side, none of my other channels use a PL tone on the receive side. Thanks.

HT 1000 busy channel LED question

 I programmed into my 16 channel VHF HT 1000 the option to have the red LED blink whenever a channel is busy. However, this seems to work on only one channel. I thought this was a global setting?? Is this option dependant on other options to be enabled in order for it to work, or is it PL tone...

Thanks for your comments. I did think about getting an old 486 machine just for this, as you said, I can probably get one for little or nothing.

HT1000 programming

I'm new to all this; I welcome opinions and comments. Can I assume that the cable from the RIB box to the computer is not a standard DB-25 to DB-25 cable? Usually on eBay when I see a programming cable, they are refering to the cable from the RIB to the radio, I don't see much mention of the cable f...
