you need to make sure you select Intel unsigned long in the base converter. The frequency needs to be entered with six decimal places. For example, to have a range 2 UHF go down lower you enter 450000000 in the base converter. Search for that hex string and then in the base converter enter 440000000...

To make it a range 2 it would require a new RF board, new power amp, and flashed with range 2 codeplug and tuning file. The first two you can do but the second two are next to impossible. Sounds like the radio may have an RF problem. Start with the basics. Program the system's four control channels in as conventional frequencies to see if the radio will even receive them. Next, have an experienced tech realign the radio or send it to the depot for alignment and firmware update.

As Batdude stated earlier in this thread, Moto does not offer FPP and SmartZone together at this time.

There is an unofficial flash that does support both options but Moto WILL NOT sell it at this time.

Does your department have a software subscription agreement with Motorola? If so, then you should be entitled to a free upgrade if you have previously purchased the CPS. Also you can check on MOL under resource center to see if you have access to download the latest version 8 CPS.

In SmartZone operation the prime site controller codeplugs are set to not do a midnight rollover of control channels. Channel 1 is usually set as first priority, channel 2 as second, and so forth.

The system manager can elect to have another control channel set as first priority if they desire.

No, the XTS3000 cable/rib will work with the MTS2000.

The XTS1500, XTS2500, and XTS5000 are the only models that will work with the ribless 5000 cable. Different archetecture in the radios.

I've done about 30 and have only ruined one sticker. I use an exacto knife and start lifting at the right corner closest to you when you look at the charger from the front. Slowly and carefully lift the sticker up and try not to bend it. It should go back on just fine.

Version 3.0 firmware known to corrupt the Impress chip in the battery rendering it's Impress functionality useless. (Battery info not available).

After we complete upgrading our chargers we'll need to have Moto swap out a bunch of batteries too.

Now if only Mot would put a slot on the bottom for upgrading. I just upgraded a bunch of single unit chargers. Peel the warning label off in the charger pocket and there is an opening to plug the firmware upgrader cable. If you were careful peeling the label off you can just put it back after flash...

there is a USB cable for the 05 head but it was for flash upgrades only, it wouldn't work with the CPS for programming. That was with CPS 6.0.
