I have the 438-470 preamp in my 450-482 S[ectra. Works well except in high RF areas. I can live with the intermod in those areas for the increased sensitivity in the ham band.

The radio would need to support MDC radio inhibit. I do not know if the 750/1250 series supports that.
If the radio does support MDC 1200 radio inhibit then you would need either a MDC1200 Stat Alert console or a Centracom II console with MDC signalling BIM to be able to send the inhibit command ...

Have you gone through the deviation and mod comp alignments? If you do not have the proper test equipment then send it into a compentant dealer or the depot. The depot will also upgrade the host/dsp if needed.

I've been successful getting a couple of Astro Spectra 450-482 units to work IMBE in the ham band. Seems the soft pots for deviation in digital mode do not work below 450 MHz. I've changed chip resistors on the vocoder board to get the proper devitaion and also the proper mod compensation (there are ...

I've done that. The problem is I cnage the band limits in CPS 2.0 to bring 450.000 down to 440.000. I then save it using Hex Workshop and HW saves the original as a backup. I go back in and verify the changes.
The first time I run the program it sets the band limits back to the defaults. Almost as ...

Astro Spectra - Low Astro deviation out of band
Hi All,
I've found my UHF Astro Spectra's Astro deviation is low when transmitting out of band (440 band it's about 1.2 kHz). Alignment for the digital audio does not work out of band.
I've tried changing the gain of the op amp on the command board and got the deviation up to 3 kHz and I was able ...
